Hi,

I am studying BEC right now and feel that it is harder than FAR and AUD, which is contrary to many people. I am wondering whether my study method is right. Any one experience this?

This is what I hate about BEC. My most recent 24 question bank of questions result:

B1: Corporate Governance and Operations Management – 60%

B2: Strategic Planning: Techniques for Forecasting, Budgeting, and Analysis – 100%

B3: Financial Management – 80%

B4: Information Systems and Communications – 25%

B5: Economic Concepts – 100%

B6: Process and Project Management, Globalization, Financial Risk Management, Decisions, and Valuation – 100%

Do you see the IT percentage? I HATE I.T.!!! Instead of the total result of 75% I could have gotten a 85%.

Sorry for the rant but man. It's like you can see through the AICPA. They love throwing in the random stuff and then testing heavily on it regardless of how often a CPA will use it in the real world (*cough* *cough* govn't accounting in FAR). I think it's how they keep the passing scores down.

BEC was ridiculously hard for me! I would do FAR and REG anyway over BEC again. My weakest area is IT and wouldn't you know it: my test HAMMERED me (and a lot of it NOT in my study material). There are so many random topics to be proficient in. I was positive I failed when I left prometric, but I squeaked in a pass.

FAR and REG seemed to flow a lot easier for me – like I could find their interconnections. But I never really got there with BEC.

@Quinacridone – I felt the same way as you. I felt so defeated during the exam. I was tested more on topics that were not covered in my review course.

Anything worth doing is probably not easy, but the rewards are worth it. (unknown)
