I can’t figure out if I have ADHD or not. I am very hesitant to try pills but I definitely see that it is a bit more of a struggle for me to focus on studying than other people. Quitting coffee has helped me a little but I still feel like my focus could be better. Also I noticed for some reason my focus is at it’s best at night.

I am considering going to a Dr and trying out the lowest possible dose of pills to see if that makes any difference for me.

Has anyone tried a very low dose and seen improvement? Does the dose eventually become ineffective and need to be increased over time? Is it hard to get off the pills?

Has anyone tried anything besides medication and seen improvement?

Any input would be helpful, just trying to see how other people deal with focus issues.

    Thanks

At Tom – if you read the studies, and listen to people with ADHD, caffeine has been proven to help with ADHD and aid with ADHD meds.

I can understand why it may help some people, but isn't there more than 1 type of ADD. Maybe what works for one doesn't work for another.

I think most people who think they have some attention disorder just have terrible habits and a lack of discipline. If you can focus on an exam with minimal distractions, you can focus while studying without medication.

    Just my 2 cents.

@WannaBeCPATX16, everyone is different and I've never been on Zoloft but I'm taking very low doses of fluoxetine to help with the anxiety and adderal. It took me a few months to find the proper dosage so I ended up not studying for a few months but I will say I feel great studying now. My mind is much more relaxed and focused. I use low dosages on both prescriptions because I do not want to become to reliant upon them. I ONLY take adderal if it is necessary. If I'm focusing well that particular day I do not take it. Definitely consult these issues with your doctor, I was very open to mine regarding everything I was feeling and how the meds were affecting me. If there is one thing I've learned, don't be bashful. If you are open to trying it and you are being honest, then give it a try just be mindful of the side effects. Hope this helps bud
