Which section do you guys think is more difficult? I just took FAR in Feb. ( Passed with 81) I thought the studying was pretty rough, but the exam itself wasn’t as bad as I had feared. Do you think REG is more difficult, less difficult, or about the same as FAR?

I vote for FAR being more difficult than REG. I work in Financial Reporting, but I am not exposed to all of what the FAR exam includes. For REG I don't do tax, and I am exposed to only limited areas here, but I am already certified in ethics, have SOX experience, and do well with business law. I think it depends on your strengths / weaknesses which tests seem harder.

Rski, FAR was definitely the most difficult for me next to BEC.. REG and AUD weren't that bad to grasp…

I do individual taxes on the side and I do have limited partnership income so that helped me out with grasping the concepts, plus my review course provider did an excellent job on the business law components and the professional responsibilities part..

I agree that your background plays a major role. With that said, I have FAR and BEC rated as my most difficult tests.

    FAR, slight edge over BEC/REG.

    ? AUD - 87 (8/12/09)
    ? REG - 77 (1/15/10
    ? BEC - 77 (1/6/09 - Expired) / 79 (11/18/10)
    ? FAR - 75 (2/11/11)

Reg or FAR are the hardest

I guess but all of them are about equal as far as the stench of the crap they toss at you

    83 Reg, 76 BEC, 94 Aud, 79 Far

    Done ......!

I don't know if FAR was harder than REG, but I felt worse coming out of it.

FAR! No doubt lol. I think mainly because the pararation is longer and more intimidating.

I vote FAR just due to the amount of info to study.

I will go FAR hands down due to the amount of material even though I scored lowest on BEC. REG was much easier than FAR in my experience.

Strange….I felt coming out of FAR that it was extremely difficult and that I did poorly, however, I work in the FAR environment daily as a C-Level manager. The Breadth of what they test on is huge, so again, I felt this was toughest. I scored a 93…..

But that was until REG….I think the FAR exam itself was tougher on MC due to time constraint and number crunching, but REG tests a lot of exceptions, and the simulations were a bit tougher than FAR.

REG is more strict memorization of terms, where FAR requires memorization of more complex calculations. So I'd say in finality 70% of it is based on your comfort level 30% of the toughness is in the exceptions to the rules.

Reg – multiple choice piece of cake; simulations piece of Shi*

FAR – preparation is very overwhelming and I am sure its going to be the hardest.

    BEC - 82 Reg-87 Aud - 86 Far - 81 (THANX THE LORD)

I just finished with FAR and feel like crouching in the corner and whimpering. REG was rough but nothing compared to what FAR was like.

FAR not only tests your knowledge of the material, it's also a psychological test….to see who can keep it together and not run out of the testing room….

    BEC=77, FAR=78, REG=73,74,80, AUD=70,69, 84 DONE!

I vote FAR altho my vote should not be weighted too heavily since I have only taken FAR.

I am prepping REG now and at a decent way in i feel way better about it than FAR….of course i have had a lot of exposure in the tax world so that may help

However, FAR is just such a big topic and since they can test any of it, you dont know where to really focus…..

Funny thing is tho, i felt the actual FAR exam was not as bad as anticipated…sims were rough but mc's felt pretty good and I might have to thank Becker for that

Another guy i work with took FAR recently and felt the same way…mc were easier than becker and the sims were a bit hard and all over the place…he got a 96
