@wakefern58 Think of boot as all of the other “stuff” involved a property transaction other than the main property in question. The exact definition is “money or property not of a like-kind”. So if you're exchanging a parcel of land and you also get a car, cash, and a relief of debt (i.e. you owe $X on the land, and someone assumes that debt), then the car, cash and relief of debt (everything but the land) is considered BOOT.

Gleim goes above and beyond what you should know in order to pass. The key is to be able to recognize certain questions that are beyond the scope of what's required and just brush them off. Don't spend too much time trying to figure those ones out because it may end up doing more harm than good.

I would get so frustrated when I started using Gleim because I was getting low scores on most of my quizzes. I usually do sets of 20 and most of the time there's around 5 that were made up by the devil himself.

haha @re2pect I'm too scared to even look at Gleim mcq's. Its hard enough for me to keep things straight, adding all these tricks would make matters worse.

    FAR - 78
REG - 72,74,71...please just go away REG nobody likes you!
    BEC - 82
    AUD - Aug 16

You guys are right, but I am using GLEIM as new set of MCQs besides working on the recommended SIMS. I do notice that some stuff is way to much into detail, that I even get it wrong and just pass because it is just ridiculous. But AMT for individuals is still a weak spot for me to some extent so I thought that kind of question could be one.

@dtatham10- I would only recommend you try them if you feel like you've memorized most of the other questions you're doing. It doesn't hurt to get some exposure to harder questions as long as you don't drive yourself crazy over them.

@aatoural- I switched back to Ninja, but will jump back to Gleim once I finish up all the blaw questions. I've been doing strictly new questions on Ninja and alternating with Roger on tax questions to try and keep it fresh. I like Gleim because you can focus on a specific topic if it's giving you trouble.

Re2pect – yes that is why I am doing GLEIm, the other program I have is Becker and I feel like most of them I have memorized. Even the ones I still got wrong I know which is the answer. GLeim is definitely harder, but better divided into specific topics like you said.

@norseman thank you. I ended up breaking it down in to 4 steps like becker suggests. I was making it more difficult than it needed to be….a typical occurrence for me.

Thank you. You're explanation helped too.

Has anyone experience or current use memory pills? I heard about Soy Lecithin and fish oils. Any one have experience with this?

Tim Fariss talks about nootropics, but i don't know if it's snake oil type of sales.

Does anyone know of a good source to explain commercial paper? Specifically HDC?

I'm using Gleim and can't get it to stick. As soon as I think I have it down I get to a practice questions and screw it up.

@TXJAM- I tried Alpha Brain last year before I took FAR. It's hard to tell whether those things are actually working or if it's just a placebo effect. I ended up passing FAR and kept using them for AUD. When I failed AUD I gave them up lol. I considered purchasing them again for REG, but they're expensive.

Question for anyone who has sat for REG – for the sims, how useful/helpful is the authoritative literature?

I used it a ton for FAR and it was super helpful.

@WAGN5R- I would go into the exam not expecting to use the AL for anything other than the research question. Don't forget, you'll only have 3 hours for REG instead of 4 for FAR so you'll probably need to move a little quicker when you get to the sims. I wouldn't count on spending much time looking for answers, but it may be helpful to check some of them if you have enough time.

I bought Choline and Inositol. I was reading reviews on alpha brain and a lot of people suggested it since it's cheaper and it's the ingredient they claim helps with cognitive function. Honestly I don't think it works for remembering stuff, but I do feel it helps make me feel less slugish after meals. I haven't failed a test yet, so I'm gonna keep taking it. haha.

Prometrics cancelled my test tomorrow due to weather. Pretty pissed about it. Now I have to keep studying until Tuesday 🙁

Anyone else in the same boat?
