@rashimittal – if you mean will the sims be similar and the MCQ be similar topic wise, there is no way to tell. You need to restudy as if its your first time. Everything is still fair game.

@Sillie – I feel the same way Corp is so much info! I felt like i never had a good grasp on it for my last exam try to get a better understanding this time.

@Stay_Positive – I think your username should help you 😉 I know how hard it is to get motivated! Can you cut the work out to maybe 2 times a week? I would say a short nap during that time then some food and a coffee might help with the staying a wake thing. If i start noticing i am just clicking to get the set of questions done, I take a short 5 min break. Example, do some push-ups, or jumping jacks, or fold laundry, or do the dishes, then back to the MCQ. I also wrote out why i need to finish this window, and EVERY time i think of doing something that isn't studying I look at it, its working. You can do this! 7/8 is one month away! Also keep checking here! i will be here almost every day!

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Thanks Seattle. So apart from what you mentioned, all other income and expense items increase or decrease the AAA account?

    Awaiting license in IL.

Just got my AUD score last night, so here I am for REG, last monster. Scheduled it for 8/24 – it's a lot of time, but I'm not getting started til next week. I have two kids and I work FT, so it's a lot to manage! I'm using CPAexcel, Wiley testbank, and probably will get NINJA audio.

    Good luck everyone! Happy studying!

AAA is increased with income items (taxable ones) and decreased with expense items (deductible ones and some certain nondeductible).

“The AAA tracks the amount of undistributed S corp income that has been taxed to the shareholders after 1982. The AAA is increased by S corp taxable income and separately stated taxable income items and decreased by S corp deductible

losses and separately stated loss items, non-deductible expenses and non- dividend distributions. ” John Day, 2008

Using 2012 Becker materials. Clicked on 2012 Becker Updates:

    https://beckerkb.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/927/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2Mjg3ODIwNy9zaWQvaFhSKnZNa2w%3D/session/L3RpbWUvMTM2Mjg3ODIwNy9zaWQvaFhSKnZNa2w=

This gives updates from the 2012 text which uses 2011 amounts – gives 2012 amounts. But 2012 amounts will be tested on the exam?? (and not 2013?) For example– Personal exemption 2011=3700, 2012=3800, 2013=?. Which should I know? (obv not 2011)

Anyone have a good article or source on calculating tax liability for a consolidated subsidiary based on the relative taxable income and relative tax liability approaches? It sounds pretty straight forward, but what if one subsidiary has a NOL?

    Awaiting license in IL.
