@ Kappa:
On my retest, I felt like I knew the material, so I went straight to Wiley Test Bank (TB) and focused on getting my scores above 85% on all of the subject categories.
1. I did approximately 2,000 questions in the TB.
2. I divided my notebook into sections based on the TB subject categories.
3. If I got a question wrong, I wrote the question and answer in the notebook.
4. All of the questions I got wrong in the TB for a given session, the next morning or evening I would begin by reading my notes for those questions and do that group of questions again. If I got an answer in that group wrong, I highlighted it as obviously I don't understand that concept or remember that fact.
5. As you go about this process you will notice some areas need a lot more work than others. Focus on the areas that you need more work and mix in the areas you are strong in.
6. I did less than half of the simulations in the TB.
7. In the last 2-3 days of studying I read and re-read my notebook. I also read the Ninja Notes and took Jeff's advice in re-writing those notes and mine. I re-wrote as much as I could, and re-read the rest.
8. I utilized the tax code research module for my SIMs. That gave me the answers I needed on at least 3 questions.
9. Listen to MP3 audio as much as possible, especially in the car.
10. I loaded Ninja Blitz videos on my iPad. I watched all of them at least once. Some I watched 3 times and I watched a few of them in the final days of prep. They are short videos and help keep all the material fresh.
I spent some time in CPA Excel reviewing topics that I had trouble on, mainly in the law areas.
On a final note, I should have been better aware of the pretest SIM question. In hindsight I knew which one it was, and I spent more time on that question than I did on the rest and I ended up guessing on all of it anyway. I should have identified that from the start and probably not wasted any time on it. I skipped to the SIMs that I felt most comfortable on and did them in that order.
