OK, so I have been following this blog since I received my study materials from Becker. :> After taking Reg, I almost forgot to pay the advice forward by writing a post about my experience. As far as my experience goes, I was nervous but I believe I conquered some of my fears by taking the Becker practice test twice. This gave me the opportunity to adjust to the format of the test. I also did all the homework questions more than twice, I worked 4 of the simulations, and I worked the supplementals as well. I studied for 2 months for this exam while studying and working full time. I hope I did well on the test, however, the anxiety is killing me!! I am sure this is the case with everyone that takes the test (or maybe it isn’t). :> It seemed that my testlets did not get increasingly complex. This worries me, because alot of ppl have said that if you are performing well, the testlets will get harder. My 1st simulation was ok, I completed all sections. My 2nd sim, was confusing at 1st and by the time I figured it out I had 34 mins left. However, I did as this website suggests and I completed the communication tab 1st for each sim. I completed the 2nd sim at the very last 10-15 mins and had time to review. Now, I am patiently waiting for the results.

So I will report back with results in a month!!! Off to study BEC…………………………………..

    REG-90, BEC-75, FAR-73 (02/12/2010--Waiting for results), AUD-88

I think the worst advice about the cpa exam is how the test is adaptive and should get harder if you are doing well. It really messes w/ people's mind. I know it is hard to do, but I think people should not think about that aspect of the exam at all. Level of difficulty is all relative.

I agree for me AUD did not seem to get harder and I passed. BEC did seen to get harder and it is not adaptive – failed by 2 points. When you are tested over material you know well – it does not seem to get harder. Just take each question as it comes.

True, guys. I recently took AUD, and it did not seem to get much harder if at all. But I know it must have because I was getting as high as 90% of the questions right considering it was a retake and I had studied a second time. All three testlets felt easy because I knew the material so well. I might feel differently if it was my first time taking it, but I know I passed considering I missed it by only 1 point last try. Anyway, y'all are right, you should just work all questions the best you can and forget about the difficulty. The only test I felt like the questions truly got harder was the one I failed.

I have only taken AUD and REG and they did not seem to increase in difficulty at all. I am not worried about it because I feel as if I knew the material very well.

If you know the material, it isn't going to seem harder as you go along.

Maybe I'm just justifying to myself! Ha.

    AUD: 95 (7/14/10)
    REG: 94 (7/22/10)
    BEC: 87 (7/29/10)
    FAR: 95 (8/12/10)

@geaux11—do you work? I couldn't help but notice how close each of your tests are together. How do you do it?

No, I don't start my job until October 1. I recently graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and the whole spring semester is spent reviewing for the exams. So preparing now is kind of a “refresher” of everything we did this spring.

I'd say 85% of the 90 students took all of the tests in May. I had to wait until July because I was 3 hours short of the upper-level accounting requirement.

    AUD: 95 (7/14/10)
    REG: 94 (7/22/10)
    BEC: 87 (7/29/10)
    FAR: 95 (8/12/10)
