gorbuhaParticipantPlease share your stories. I took REG at the end of May and I am sure I failed as I had a very limited knowledge of taxation and the test concentrated specifically on taxes so I had to guess too many MCQs and also all of the SIMs except for the research questions. I am sure I did not pass.
FAR - 89
AUD - 84
BEC - 84
REG - 49, 86
ETHICS - 96........ DONE!!!

AnonymousInactiveSo I took REG yesterday and feel as if I failed. I've passed the other three sections of the exam on my first attempt within three months and I thought they were relatively easy. This one however was brutal. I used Becker and got through the entire Reg section, watched all lectures and did all required MCQ. On the exam the questions were asked in a different way and got me second guessing myself. I'd say I guessed on around 20 questions. The sims were a nightmare. Even if I had the becker book in front of me I would have struggled with a few and would have been left with no guidance on one of them. Got the research, thank god. We will see come next Friday (hopefully) or at the latest next Monday. Has anyone else passed far aud and bus with relative ease but thought reg was a nightmare but passed?

AnonymousInactiveMy only hope at this point is that perhaps 55% of the people did worse than I did. If that's the case, I'll at least get a 75.

hneagle1MemberThis will be the longest longest week in my life… All I want for Christmas is to…..pass CPA lol.
FAR - 82 (8/30/14)
AUD - 95 (10/7/14)
REG - 82 (11/7/14)
BEC - 85 (11/26/14) - PEACE OUT!

AnonymousInactiveYep, I was in the same boat. I was almost certain I'd be taking it again – as I made up numbers for most of the simulations, and flagged way way too many MCQ's. Walked out with an 81. Felt great about AUD, and okay about BEC – and those scores more closely correlated to these feelings. REG; not so much.

kenster7773ParticipantI too thought AUD and BEC were not too bad but felt like I was molested walking out of the REG exam. I literally have been studying hrs a day for the pending retake. I thought the sims were a bad joke; even if I had the textbook in front of me I would have struggled greatly. I belly flopped and it really sucks! This exam is a brutal beast. I do not know what else I can do to prepare. I gave it my all and it looks like it wasn't enough.
AUD - 95 (89 1st time - expired)
BEC - 85 (1st time)
REG - 87 (1st time)
FAR - 82 (1st time)November 26, 2014 at 6:50 pm #646190

AnonymousInactiveReading this is giving me some kind of hope… Took REG today and I felt prepared. My confidence was shattered afterwards. The exam was so brutal and way tougher than FAR in my opinion. I flagged so many questions on the first two testlets… I felt like I got so unlucky on the sims because they were all calculations (no drop down). I got 2 research sims (I know I got them both right) so I know one of them was a pretest, and all the other calculation sims are gonna count, which I guessed on like 2 or 3 of them!! I would not be surprised if I don't pass because I'm not feeling too good about this one.
But then again, reading posts about those who thought they 100% failed and ended up passing gives me hope. Praying for a miracle!!!!

voyAaprobarMemberMy first post, but love this site already!:)
Anyway, I took REG (first exam, first try) early in Nov and I left thinking that I failed 110%. I had zero hope and I felt miserable for a couple of days. Then, I decided to take it as a learning experience and began studying for AUD, so I can take it by the end of this month. (I study about 8-10 hours a day and neglect my MBA classes when I can, which is why I decided I would attempt both in Nov & also my NTS is expiring) Well, let's just say I had the best surprise when I looked at my score and saw I got an 81 in REG. I thought half of the MCQ were very doable and about half were pretty hard (flagged & guessed on quite a few). I cannot believe how stressed I was the whole time, so I am trying to think of the difficulty of the questions and I would probably have to say Med-Difficult-no clue if I was breathing at this point so IDK. I went extremely slow and had only 38 minutes left for all the Sims (big mistake). Had 2 research Qs, and I believe I found both of them. I worked through 2 others and feel like I got anywhere from 40-80% on each. I was familiar with the topics, but they had a lot of extra info so it was hard to tell. Then, I had 2 minutes left to randomly fill in numbers for the other two, where I put zeros or the first number I saw. One of them didn't require calculations (I think), so maybe I got lucky with random numbers on some. (Also, if I had to guess, I'd say one of these was a pretest even though most people would say it would be 1 of the 2 research questions). I truly have no idea how they grade this thing; although I am extremely thankful and very lucky! Good luck guys, and try not to stress about it, because it is extremely possible to pass even though you missed or guessed on some.

AnonymousInactiveI thought I failed REG because of the SIMS and passed with an 87. Not sure how I got an 87 but I was almost in tears when I saw it. I still don't believe it based on my experience. I was visibly shaken and had a massive headache after the exam.
One sim I had was completely out there. It was calculation based only and really really long. Another was also calculation based and would have been fairly easy if each part didn't have some little random tidbit that I think was put there to confuse you. I remember rushing through the last calculation based question with only a few minutes to spare. The research question was the only easy SIM I thought. The rest were very challenging and time consuming. I'm guessing the sims i struggled with the most didn't count?

AnonymousInactiveHappy to contribute that I thought I failed REG but passed (barely) with a 78. It is true that you never know. I know that I killed the first set of MCQs, but feel that the highest I could have possibly gotten on the 2nd two sets is 50%. Only felt like I sort of new what I was doing on 2 or 3 sims tops, including the research.
The exam might not be curved, but 75 does not mean 75%. I am 100% positive that you can only get half of the possible points (or less) and still pass. It's completely subjective based on them maintaining their pass percentages, deciding where the pass/fail cutoff is (__ points out of ___ total possible), and starting the 75s at that baseline.
