Yea I know what you mean. I just had a series of talks with my wife over the weekend regarding the exam. She is great and totally supportive, but working and studying full time for months on end just ends up leaving each of us feeling like the other person isn't there. I have an enormous amount of respect for anyone who can pull this off while taking care of a child. I only have work to deal with and this at times seems like there is no way I can fit all this information in my head.
i may have passed this actually,,,wasnt as hard as I expected,,,nothing like the ninja MCQs,,,also heard horror stories regarding the sims but didnt encounter anything too crazy on the actual…if i failed its by slim margins and a product of my own lack of motivation
@sticky_nicky this is a great news! Can't wait to hear how you did! At least we won't have to wait too long to find out our scores! My REG is tomorrow 12/8 so we are all going to be biting our nails on the night of 12/15.
The REG study group is dead this morning with all of you taking the exam today! 😉
I just took REG today! MCQs didn't feel too bad. Many topics I was worried about didn't show up, but the same goes for stuff I felt good about. It'll be pass or fail based on the SIMS. A decent amount of computation that I didn't feel great about, but it's always hard to tell.
Finished the first 24 MCQs in about 8 minutes, and the second set really threw me for a loop. I got a really long DRS, and was able to find my research question because it was literally something I looked up for my own personal use last week… Some of the BLaw stuff was ridiculous with the terms, it was so out there. And a few of the basis questions were tough. I had a lot of 50/50 questions so here's hoping I did ok on them. I usually finish exams super quickly and only had 4 minutes left on the exam when I was done. The sims were pretty long for me.
I just found out that I passed REG early this morning. Right after the test I had immediately thought that I failed because of how difficult the simulations were, but somehow wound up with an 82. Just wanted everyone to know that you can feel miserable about the simulations and still pass. I was only confident about getting the research question correct. I used Becker and NINJA MCQ to study. I spent one week on R5-8, and ten days on R1-4, and then another week of cumulative review. I was studying full-time. I did 2918 questions on NINJA and averaged an 80%.
Just finished reg, my first test of the CPA. MC were somewhat okay. There were probably like 2 that I literally had no idea on and just guessed. Maybe another 6-8 that I knew it was definitely one of two answers so I have a pretty good shot with those. I didn't notice the testlets getting any harder so that worries me a bit. Did I think I did better than I actually did if they didn't get harder but I felt good about them? So then came the sims…I went through MC pretty fast unintentionally. Had a little under two hours for the sims. First question: research that I literally can't find no matter what words I put in. GAH move on and just click through to see what I'm working with. I looked at each and thought “Oh I have a pretty good understanding of this topic, good” but then look at the little tiny details that twist it around and make it much more complicated and I'm like wellll so much for that. So reallly not sure how I did especially considering it's my first test. One week and we will see. Moving on to BEC in the meantime. Will have to devise an entire new plan if I failed because I honestly don't know what more I could have done for that test.
