It said someone sold a car and told me to calculate gain. It didn’t say how much the car sold for tho. I looked the question about multiple times and it definitely didn’t tell me the selling price. It was weird and freaked me out. Is there a good chance this sim was the pretest one?

Are you sure the car selling price wasn't hidden some where in the source documents?
They have a way of hiding things in plain sight. It could be a mistake, or pretest, but that's sort fo a big mistake for a CPA exam.
My guess is that it was somewhere in the attached docs and you might have missed it.

I had that same one and hoping it wasn't a pretest lol He is right, its a personal use asset so there is no gain. It was LTCG or STCG. It was NA
