So I just took REG yesterday and it is my last section left. The MC weren’t that bad and the 2nd testlet was harder than the 1st, but really it wasn’t that bad overall. The questions just seemed to be more “wordy” and more calculation questions. Same thing goes for the 3rd testlet. Now…when I got to the SIMS??? I probably should have just walked out right then and there. There were around 2 questions that had two additional tabs of information to look at! 2!! Not 1, but 2!!! The research question has ridiculous too. Anyways, I just wanted to hear some feedback from people who felt the same way, but ended up passing….

My SIMs were gnarly and super long. Like @cpaproject said, I feel like I left one SIM with 35 zeros as well. I changed some of the answers, but a majority were 0's!

I 100% know I got my research and two more at least 80-90% correct. The others are just terrible, terrible nightmares. My MCQ didn't seem to get harder either. Or at least wordier. I've already told everyone I failed.

    AUD: 84
    REG: 84
    BEC: 79
    FAR: 83

samdiego- From my experience taking the exam in general, my opinion is if you think you did pretty well on the MC and basically 80-100% on 3 sims (including research) then you definitely passed. Geez, thanks for ruining the curve for everyone else haha jk! Best of luck to you on release day!

I took REG in July. Thought I did really well on the MC's and had NO confidence in ANY of my SIMS. I put educated guesses in for half of them and were completely clueless on the other half.

    I passed.

    FAR (2/20/13): 76
    AUD (4/8/13): 78
    BEC: (5/20/13): 86
    REG: (7/10/13): 76

So this thread has increased my belief that I had a 0.00% chance of passing to maybe around 12%. However that 12% increase still hasn't at all eliminated any of the anxiety I feel every time I think about that test.

Alright, time for me to vent. Took REG yesterday. The SIMS were completely unfair. I'm sorry, they just were. I wanna smack someone. I passed the other 3 sections with a 90+ so far, and I feel like I got a 40 on this one. Got 2 research questions, found the first immediately. The 2nd one took FOREVER and really exemplified how crappy the search engine is after I found the answer and saw what past searches this result had been left out of. But whatever, that happens. The bigger issue was the insane depth two of the sims went into. Of the four: one I knew, one i probably should have known better. But these two (expletives, lots and lots of expletives) were just unfair. I highly doubt a seasoned tax accountant could have gotten these right without extensive use of outside literature (which you won't have time for btw, and the search engine is trash to boot).

    What a joke.

CBurn- I agree with you! I left the testing center thinking there is no way I passed, but from reading all these stories, I think there is a small chance I might?! Honestly though, with my luck I probably failed and the never ending cycle rolls on…..Oh I loathe this exam

    AUD-76
    FAR-65,78
    BEC-74 (kill me), 75
    REG-8/25/13

Total agree with you tobe, Got 90s on the other 3 and I honestly think I failed REG even though I put in the same amount of studying as the others. The SIMs were not even close to being fair

    AUD - 5/2013 91
    FAR - 7/2013 92
    BEC - 8/2013 90
    REG - 8/2013
