Took REG yesterday and I’m sad to report that I’m doubtful I passed.

Exam was very fair but I found myself blanking out on very basic questions, mostly centered around simple definitions (like what is a reportable transaction) and confusing a few questions involving taking the lesser of something vs. the greater of something.

I’m bummed because I can identify at least 5 of those missed beyond the dozen or so questions I flagged. I’ve been at REG for 2.5 months and it’s my last section but I definitely burned myself out. I’ve been dealing with health issues for the past year so I’m running on fumes trying to finish all this before I lose BEC in June.

Something that I disliked about REG from the beginning was the heavy amount of memorization that is required. There’s the partnership basis concepts and the tax concepts but beyond that, most of the rest of the section is fact-based memorization and it’s those things that are easy to forget and/or confuse on test day.

It’s one thing to not pass because you failed to prepare but to not pass because of blanking out on simple definitions, that’s sucks. I went through almost all of the Ninja questions twice, trending score of nearly 90% so I’m not sure on what to change but I’ve got my NTS ready to reschedule, now I just wait for my score despondently 🙁

My advice to you all is make sure you have the definitions down as well as knowing precisely those stipulations of taking the lesser of vs. greater of (there’s a handful of them). Also, don’t burn yourself out!

@cpanoob I will! I keep checking to see if it came in early since many states do that apparently but California has their own score release system so it looks like it'll come in tomorrow.

I went back to studying and have been doing MCQ's since the weekend. I just couldn't take it and had to do something. I'm still assuming I didn't pass 🙁

@animalwithin did your CBA website update? Mine is showing this – “Authorization to Test (ATT) Accepted by NASBA.”

I think it is updated – try logging into the CBA website! 🙂
