What a great feeling! I've been envious of the people that were able to post in this thread. Now I get to sit at the big kids table!!! I'm not sure where to go from here, I'll need to message mIa because I know she's in Mass. Anyone have to transfer credits to another state? Congrats to all the new comers!

I am thankful for the previous posts in this thread. I was not aware that one could take the ethics exam prior to receiving paperwork from the Texas State Board.

A special thanks to Jeff for all that he does to help candidates like myself who sat for the exam a total of 17 times.

I feel extremely glad and grateful that I am finally joining this club! I have always wanted to pass the exams since I graduated from university four years ago, but I did not actually get started the progress until earlier this year. Thank you to Jeff and everyone in A71 community. This forum really gave me a lot of motivation with so many inspiring stories. Congrats to those who just recently joined the club as well! 🙂

Hey Peanut, just saw this! I had to wait to get my package in the mail because I was still finishing my masters degree (in lieu of experience) but you can download the app from the state board website. And we don't have to do an ethics exam in MA to get the license 😉

I'm not an alum yet (hopefully at the end of this month), but do any of you IL passers know if the year of experience starts after you pass all four parts? I've got a year of experience already, but now I'm worried that I'll have to wait another year before I can put those three letters behind my name since you can no longer register and can only license.

    F - PASSED (11/26/11)
    A - PASSED (1/14/12)
    B - PASSED (7/14/12)
    R - PASSED (8/31/12)
    Ethics Exam - 95 %

Just waiting to be able to put those three little letters behind my name...

not sure about IL, but in IN you get credit for years of experience BEFORE even sitting for/applying for the exams. I was a financial advisor for 3 years prior to even getting my masters in accounting and after passing all the cpa exams in may, I was able to apply for the license based on my prior work experience. In IN, you have to have a current licensed cpa vouch to your experience though–this can be any cpa holder (doesn't have to be your supervisor or anything like that)

Thanks for the input…I'm definitely hoping that IL treats prior experience the same way.

    REG Exam in 5 days:

I am taking my last section-REG- on Monday next week. I need advice from anyone that recently passed the REG exam on which area to focus more on in the final revision. By the way, I am using Becker 2011. Any comment and/advice will be appreciated. Thanks.

I am processing all my paperwrk through VA, even though I live in FL. Not sure where I am going to live in the next 5 years……….My husband is completing his Six Sigma – Black Belt thing and that certification will open many doors for him, most of those doors in PA and NJ. I am going to wait until the beginning of next year before enrolling in any course to complete the 9 credits that I am short in FL.
