    Congrats CPAMan, and everyone else.

    The TX Board is in the process of issuing me a license number so I should be a CPA any day now!

    Yay! I finally passed and now can enter the Alumni lounge 🙂

    My next step is to submit the paperwork for the Registered CPA license. I'll start on that when ILBOA finally tells the IDPR that I passed and qualify.

    @bobkorz- Congrats!! I have to get the 1 year experience first before I can become a CPA. NY doesn't have a time limit for this, so there is no rush. Since I've been studying non-stop for over a year, I want to go away on a vacation next month. After I live life and relax, then I will start looking for a job. But I cannot wait to get that CPA license. It's going to be exciting! When I do find a new job, I hope the people at my current job won't cry when I tell them I'm leaving.

    Thanks CPAMan 🙂 I'm in Illinois so I can get a CPA Certificate (not full license) without experience, before the July 2012 deadline.

    Just curious to those alumni out there: Did you guys frame your certificate and hang it in your office at work? or did you keep it at home? Or maybe, not at all??

    @yankee

    As soon as I get my certificate I will be framing it and hanging it in my office. My mom just framed my Masters diploma as a surprise and my firm gives us about $300 to have our CPA certificate framed. I just got moved into an office after my promotion to Senior so now I actually have space to hang things. All the Managers and Shareholders at my firm have their degrees, CPA certificate, AICPA certificate and TSCPA (Texas Society) certificate hung up and it looks really great.

    What about you? What were you thinking of doing?

    @witchkizzle

    I was thinking of hanging it in my office, I have plenty of room. I just wasn't sure if it was common or not. I just finished my ethics exam on Sunday, so I still have to get the paperwork. I guess it will be awhile before I get the certificate.

    Btw congrats to you!!

    thanks, you too!! I don't post very often but I have been lurking on here for about a year so I've seen you around! CONGRATS! I think you should hang it all up. Show off that accomplishment!

    It feels great to be done doesn't it??

    I haven't hung my certificate up yet. I really should, I just haven't made the time to go buy a frame.

    Congrats to all who passed their final section this quarter!!!

    In other news, I am officially done skating. No more roller derby for me. I fell on my left knee back in January and messed up the cartilage on the back of my patella pretty bad. The orthopedic surgeon says that I will need 6 to 8 months of physical therapy, which I am starting on March 20th. The good news is that he thinks I should be able to get my knee back to 100% since I am young enough for it to heal well.

    I'm still going to be serving as Treasurer on their board of directors, and helping out with their fund raisers and stuff. Just no skating! Hard Kandi has officially retired.

    Oh ALSO! I know there have been a few of us here that have complained of weight gain as a result of the CPA exam. Just wanted to let you guys know that I have officially lost 25 pounds… I'm now down 2 pant sizes and a shirt size too! I have about 2 more pant sizes to drop until I'll be at my ideal size. I went shopping for new clothes this weekend and it really hit home.

    @mla1169

    Happy to hear your good news!

    I am very excited that this whole process to get licensed might actually be almost over!

    How is your teaching going?

    @yankeeaccountant

    Thanks! I also still have to send in forms…my experience form and also I can't remember if I already sent in one of the licensing forms and payment (when I initially applied for the exam…I didn't think I would be missing any credits) so I have to contact the state education department…

    I hope you experience a quick and smooth licensing process!

    @kandisjoy

    I'm sorry to hear about your fall but happy to hear the good news!
