Hi guys, I really needs advice ASAP , I am currently a student on master of accounting my GPA is around 3.95 but my undergrad GPA is low less than 3. I passed 3 sections of the CPA so far, I can graduate on June/2012 , but some friends suggested to me not to graduate then sit at home looking for a job through career builder or monster…they suggested to leave one or two classes until the fall of 2012 because all the recruiters will come on Sept and Oct for interview and that will give me an advantage as a current student over being an alumni..as you know they looking to hire people after graduation within six months to 1 year. But if the recruiters find out I am already graduated they will assume that I won’t wait and will find a job.
Last week, I sent out all paperwork to CBA -CA Board of Accountancy..It has been only 5 days since they have my paperwork and I can't wait to get my license #. Anyone here got their license in CA, and how long did you have to wait?
@agnie – I sent my app Jan 3rd and got a letter today saying they have everything they need and can now process the application. The letter says 4-6 more weeks.
@agnie – Yeah, I hope it is quicker too. Its a little bit ridiculous it took 4 weeks to figure out that they have everything they need and can now START the review process. lol.
Thanks for being my DJ in the office! I can't believe that the world is so small that after our CPA exam candidacy and countless hours on Another71.com, we end up being co-workers and cube neighbors! Keep it rocking all busy season BAM.
Five days after mailing out my CA application, I received yellow acknowledgement that CBA received my application and I will receive status letter within 30 days. More wait.
Waiting for license and looking for job, it is so much stressful, not sure which one is better studying or my current wait and search for job.
This is my first post in the Alumni Lounge! I'm going to start on my application paperwork on Monday. I am so pumped that I get to call myself a CPA in a couple months. (A couple months because the Louisiana State Board has its next regular meeting at the end of April, according to the online application I found.)
