mandy8041MemberTexans- MEGAN, DAVID……anyone else- has anyone sent off packet with App for issuance, ethics, work experience…..? If so, how long did it take for them to process all of your info? I sent mine yesterday and they received it today (UPS). Just wondering when they will update the info in the system. The packet said once they put all the info into the system, they issue licenses once a week.

AnonymousInactiveI finally received my experience verification back from my prior employer and submitted my application! I am hoping that I may be licensed in 2011, but more realistically 2012. I am still in shock that soon enough I'll be able to call myself a CPA!

I am Kulah on Kil'Jaeden. I have several other 85s but that is my main.
I've been playing since Vanilla. Unfortunately I can't be the true addict that I used to be, since roller derby and other life stuff seems to interfere… but I sitll find time to play on the weekends. Maybe when I get prego or something, I will have time to play again till the baby comes. Can't skate while prego. 🙂
I actually met my fiance in my last serious raiding guild. He was an officer… quite the scandal as far as WoW goes. I stole him from his guild about three years ago and we kind of both stopped raiding after he moved to CA (from PA) to be with me.
A true nerd love story!

mandy8041MemberDavid1985- I know they lost your score, but you still should have received your packet by now. I got mine 3 days after scores posted. It is easy to fill out, just the application and the forms in the packet. Had to write up a job description and my boss had to write up qualifications to supervise me, but that was still easy. I found the test on professional responsibilities kind of difficult to be honest with you. Some were very easy and straight forward and others I was questioning myself. You can only miss 3 of out 25 so we will see if I pass that.
They received my packet yesterday but nothing has been updated in the system yet. I was just trying to find out how long it takes from the time they receive the info to the time they process it.

MeganParticipantI haven't sent mine yet. I've only been at this firm for 14 months and my partner won't sign off on my hours until next week when I will hit 2,000 billable hours. She won't count CPE, travel, or staff meetings :P. Maternity leave through me off too and I don't want to go back to my old firm and make him fill out the form too. AHHH! So next week it is. I have 1,984 hours right now, and I'll take off Friday and Monday, so Tuesday she's going to attach my billable hours report to the work experience form.
I celebrated last week by taking a trip with the hubs to NYC! We had a great time, and Allyson got to see all my ridiculous celebrity stalking photos on FB 🙂

mandy8041MemberMegan- Although I have over 2000 billable hours, I did not think they had to be billable. A lot of my job includes tax meetings with new clients which we do not bill for. Plus things like education and training. I did not understand the requirement to be 2000 billable hours, I though it was 2000 hours working for the firm (aka 1 year of experience)
I am glad you felt the same way. Well I will let you and David know when they process my info so that you know what to expect

MeganParticipantMandy – That's how I understood it too, but since she was putting her name and license on it, she wanted to make sure she could attest to it being billable hours in case it came back to her. Oh well. It's kind of taking the thrill out of being done since I'm not done until that is out the door and done, but it'll be done soon!

mla1169ParticipantMegan cheer up. I found out on 11/3 that I passed my final section, can't mail in my app until February and won't have my license until the end of March. Total bummer. But at least the HARD part is out of the way 🙂 Its just disappointing when people ask “are you a CPA now?” and I have to say “not for another 3 months…..”

mla1169ParticipantMegan no I am doing a non-reporting license (no experience required if you have a graduate degree) and my degree conferral date is January 15 so I will miss the January board meeting. They have no board meeting in February so the soonest they will review my application is at the March meeting.
I loathe waiting but it sure is better than studying!
