QUICK Turn around for VA License

I just wanted to share – from the time I sent my initial application Monday afternoon w/ payment electronically and in less than 48 hours my application was processed, accepted, received confirmation of license # via Email, and I show up on the CPA Verify website and can now use the CPA title.

I was expecting at least a week.

For anyone in VA – I did wait until my final score was posted on the VBOA website – which was about a week after NASBA posted the score. I’m not sure if this helped with the expedited time.

I'm also in VA. Can I ask when you sent yours in? Mine seems to be taking forever (granted it's been only 2 weeks), but NOTHING is checked off, not even passing all 4 parts of the exam. The only thing checked off on my list is the application. I'm getting frustrated and they told me on the phone that it would take about 2 weeks, but I've heard nothing.

I submitted the application w/ payment on Monday – June 15. I logged in every so often and never actually saw any of the progression checks it went straight from unchecked to licensed when I logged back in on June 17 (yesterday).

It could have been a timing thing on your end – was your final exam score showing on the VBOA website before you applied?

No, I applied before the score showed up. I applied on 6/2 and nothing has happened since. I didn't take the Ethics exam until the next week, so I know that's why it wasn't a quck turnaround like yours, but it's still strange that I have no checkmarks. And I've been obsessively checking 🙂

That could be why, I waited for the score to show up on VBOA and faxed over the completed ethics, experience verification etc. on the day of my application. They probably had everything at once so it was a quick check.

Either way – congrats on finishing!

Congratulations to both of you for passing!

Sorry to hi-jack your thread, i have a quick question for fellow Virginians and you two seem knowledgeable. I have one section left for the CPA Exam but I do not have the required education credits to get licensed. Can my Exam Scores expire in Virginia if I do not get the other requirements completed in a certain time?

That I do not know. I had all of my credits before I took the exam. I think VA is one of the states that doesn't expire, but you would have to check with the board for sure.
