I am an international student who passed all parts of the CPA exam in May. Now to get my certificate, the requirement is that a CPA, who holds a permit in good standing and should also have been my supervisor, should certify my work experience. While It is already very difficult in countries outside the US to find a US CPA who has a permit to practice, now this person has to be my supervisor and certify my work experience.

I already have the experience, but don’t have a CPA as a supervisor to certify that.

Any suggestions / ideas / workarounds to fulfill the requirement of the CPA certificate (that i really worked hard to pass and obtain) would be welcome.

Some states have more lax requirements than other states. Maybe transfer your scores to one of the easier states and get signed off that way. Otherwise you will need to re-satisfy the requirement, this time acting under an active CPA.

Thanks Mini…as for the states with less stringent requirements, Delaware is probably the least, and that's where I've passed from. The second option is a good one – the only hiccup : I just joined a multinational brand 8 months ago and am charting my career path with them. It might be a long wait.
