Well, it has been a long journey… BUT I'M DONE!!!!!
The first go around at becoming a CPA was at the beginning of 2012… I passed a few sections, ended up losing credit for all of them, lost motivation and QUIT…. Fast forward to summer of 2016, my wife and I decided that I should give it another try and go all-in with the mindset of passing the exams. I put in the hard work, stayed motivated, stayed committed, and did NOT quit – I was determined to pass. Below is my journey:
Sept 2016 – AUD – 72 “Dang”
Oct 2016 – AUD – 74 “Worst feeling ever”
Feb 2017 – BEC – 77 “Wahoo!”
May 2017 – AUD – 80 “Sweet, I got this!”
July 2017 – REG – 68 “Okay, maybe not…”
March 2018 – FAR – 72 “Clock is ticking on BEC, panic mode is setting in”
May 2018 – FAR – 79 “Thank GOD, I slayed the beast that is FAR”
June 2018 – REG – 58 “Don't give up, you can do it!”
August 2018 – REG – 76 “With BEC credit on the line…. Pass and I am done OR fail and I go back to halfway done….If for once in my life I can compare myself to Michael Jordan and this was my Finals Game 7….then this is it!”
This was by far the most challenging thing I have ever done. I feel like the failures really put my will power to the test. I had a great support system and I stuck with it. This was mentally and physically exhausting but I am so thankful it is over!
