So excited to be part of this thread. I took my first exam last November never thinking I would pass any of these exams. Not even a year later I went 4/4 on passing and am completely done and couldn't be happier. Used Wiley CPAExcel to prepare for the exam and pounded questions for two weeks before ever exam using their test bank.
November 16 – BEC, 83
January 17 – AUD, 95
March 17 – REG, 87
May 17 – FAR, 89CPA!!!!
August 18, 2017 at 12:37 pm #1605195ToddParticipantI started this journey back in 2013 with Becker and failed miserably. After Becker expired I was stuck with the old books and no game plan until I stumbled upon Ninja and this awesome forum. I honestly owe Jeff and all his com padres credit for the wonderful product which is ultimately why I was able to pass all 4 exams. Been through so many valleys, seen credits expire and nearly gave up after battling Audit for a full year. Thanks to everyone on this forum keeping me motivated to succeed and grind away and all the wonderful advice / horror stories. Without you all there is no way I could have passed all 4 sections. Thank you Ninja! I owe you a beer when I get that certificate framed! Thank you all!
August 18, 2017 at 5:25 pm #1605533jackattackParticipantThere are no words to express how I am sooooo glad that I will never have to see Tim Gearty and Peter Olinto in my life again!!!!
I dreamed of joining this thread and officially say.. I'm DONE!!! Done Done DONE !!!
Although this is a celebration I cant help and think how I got here. My CPA journey has been horrible, loss of job, divorce, child custody fight, loss of friends (they didn't die they were just horrible people), strained relationships, loneliness, etc etc etc …
I only have to say one thing “In your face life!!!” 😀
August 18, 2017 at 5:58 pm #1605600chuckParticipantFor anyone who needs some encouragement for these exams:
I started my exams 2 years ago. The first exam I ever took was FAR and I got a 74. I took it again and passed. I also took BEC and AUD that year and passed. I only had REG left. The first time I took it I got a 74. Studied a few more months and then took it again. Another 74. Started studying for the third time and guess what-ANOTHER 74!!!!! I was heartbroken and confused-what are the chances that one person could get 4 74s. The last time I failed was in February. I had to buy all new study materials and study for the new section and then wait months for my score. I was discouraged. One morning I was reading my bible and one verse stood out to me. It made me put my big girl pants on and persevere through the 74s. It was Jeremiah 29:11. I took the test again in May and got my score back yesterday. 88! Finally passed. I learned a lot about perserverance and patients through this journey so if you are feeling like you're never going to pass-I've been there…so many times. It will happen! I promise! Push through. God has a beautiful plan for you.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you' declares the Lord. ‘Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” -Jeremiah 29:11
August 18, 2017 at 8:02 pm #1605672lex7632ParticipantRjcpa714 took the words out of mouth. This truly has been a long horrible score release delay, indeed. I just found out today on the CBA site that I passed FAR with a 79! I'm finally done with all 4 exams. This journey started in June 2016. Passed BEC July 2016, REG Aug 2016, AUD Oct 2016 on my first attempt for those sections. Failed FAR DEC 2016 (74) and Mar 2016 (73). Retook FAR May 2017. I used Ninja 10-point combo for REG and FAR as a BOGO deal. I used just Ninja notes and mcq for BEC. I used Ninja notes, audio, and mcq for AUD. I changed to Surgent CPA Review for FAR after failing it twice. It just clicked for me, especially for the simulations preparation, after I started restudying using Surgent. The Ninja notes and audio still helped tremendously as a complementary supplement to Surgent.
I too never thought this day would come. It's just surreal for me. I'm at a loss for words regarding how much joy and feeling of relief I am having right now. Thank you everyone on another71 for the support and thanks to Jeff and his Ninja products. My CPA Exam journey has finally come to an end. Passed the CA PETH Exam Dec 2016. Now I just need to pass an accounting ethics course and obtain one year accounting work experience. Onto other goals that I want to accomplish that I temporarily put on hold.
Best of luck to all the exam candidates who are trying to finish their respective CPA Exam journeys as well!!! No matter what, don't give up and you will eventually slay this daunting beast. *Shouting the Ric Flair “Woooooo” right now* https://youtu.be/2sSofokAIiw LOL Sorry, I'm just loving life right now!!!! Thank you God!!!!!!!!!!

August 19, 2017 at 3:09 pm #1606034jpn1892ParticipantI'm done too! YAY!
August 20, 2017 at 10:42 pm #1606770CPA788ParticipantI know a lot of people thought they weren't going to finish, but I legit did not think I would pull this off. This last score release was brutal, waiting 4 months for, what could have been, my last score with BEC on the line – I just never thought I would be a CPA. I still don't believe it. 11 total exams, and 5 times to pass REG (the devil in test form). The first two years of my marriage being shackled to books. Getting two puppies just to leave the work (and fun!) to my husband. 40+ hour work weeks, family members passing. This exam is not for the faint of heart, but I am posting in this thread – boo to the freakin' yeah.
Jeff, this forum is the best. It's a priceless piece of our journey and I could have never made it through without. I will check back in from time to time to give back for sure. Thank to you all of the awesome members that chimed in with advice and support, especially with the fails. And I had a lot of them. I will fall out of my seat if I ever happen to meet one of you face to face and address you by your A71 name.
Cheers, friends!
BEC - 74, 77
FAR - 72, 71 (retake 7/29)
REG - 69
AUD - Q4 '16CA Candidate
August 21, 2017 at 12:02 am #1606790ckimble22Participant4 for 4 in 6 months!
I didn't use this forum too often during that period; however, I did a few times and it was good to know that it was an option, especially for those of us late-bloomers who don't have university guidance counselors and several peers going thru the same process.
I used only the NINJA 10-Point Combo. Some of the included materials I didn't utilize, but others were invaluable. Honestly, I give the credit to the framework itself – I need some structure and I feel that the NINJA framework was as close as I was going to get with the self-study route.
I am sure you aren't reading this Jeff, but thank you! My back-story isn't that dissimilar from yours: 33 years old, wife, full-time job, 3 girls (6, 5 and 2). Also, thanks for buying those NINJA Plus videos from Bisk – awesome addition (if a bit dated)!
August 21, 2017 at 1:29 pm #1608917jc510Participantlate to the party, but I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable feeling!!! And it's great to have free time again!!!!
August 21, 2017 at 11:23 pm #1609368jeffKeymasterBumping for score release at the risk that I'll be the cause panic and outrage. 🙂
August 22, 2017 at 12:52 am #1609460mad maxParticipantI'm Done!
Thanks for your help Ninja CPA and @Jeff, I managed to go 4 for 4.
Just received my 90 in BEC (FAR-90 AUD-82 REG-86).
Already have the other requirements all done, so time to move on to getting my NJ state license. I couldn't be happier.
I started studying 12/1 with the goal of doing each exam in 6 weeks, I studied my butt off every single day (mostly doing MCQs, incl 100% of all Ninja MCQs) and stuck to my plan, and it really paid off in spades.
Congrats to all other fellow new CPA Exam Passers!
August 22, 2017 at 11:37 am #1609953rb2017ParticipantI can't believe I finally get to post in this thread! I started back in 2013, had no idea what I was doing, and could not pass an exam to save my life. Once I got serious about it, I had 3 exams down as of early 2016, but then a 74 on FAR lost my BEC and REG credits. I almost quit since I was no longer in public but something told me to keep going. That's when I found the A71 forum and NINJA audio. It was nice to go somewhere and vent if needed, and have everyone actually understand and provide encouragement and tips.
Thank you, Jeff & everyone here for keeping me sane, especially during this 3 month wait.
Now I can finally do what I said I'd do once I was done with this – learn the bass guitar! lolAugust 22, 2017 at 12:06 pm #1609985tacctfin11ParticipantI'm done! Catch ya later! Thank you!
FAR- 76 01/08/2016 exp 08/04/2017
AUD- 82 04/14/2016
BEC- May 28thbaby
