CPA50 – I'm a liberal arts background guy too man. I actually really enjoy the combination of skill sets/bases of knowledge, but I also don't think business is an actual college major, or that marketing is an academic class. To me most modern business environments are the blind leading the incompetent, and I think these “culture fit” attitudes, where people without a framework of thinking or analysis, replicate their DNA of mediocrity.

December 16, 2016 at 11:11 am #1393641AnonymousInactiveOFFICIALLY DONE! I CAN HAVE MY LIFE BACK!! PRAISE JESUS!!! This journey started in 2008 when I scored a 37 on FAR, right out of college. I gave up after 3 attempts total on 3 separate exams (Audit, FAR, and BEC). In 2012, I tried again and took Audit twice and got a 56 and then a 70. I gave up for the 2nd time. But in 2015, after getting my EA license, I went for the CPA again and passed REG on my first try with an 82! That was the motivation I needed! But the journey did not ever get easy. Audit scores in 2015: 71, 70, 75. Then BEC in 2016: 71, 71, 75. I took FAR in between my last two BEC attempts and got a 60, so after passing BEC with a 75, I had one more chance to pass FAR before losing REG and I got a 70 on FAR and lost credit for REG. 5 points away from having 4 exams… but back to 2. I did not give up. I re-took FAR and passed with a 77! 4 weeks later, I took REG and received a passing score of 79 today!!! And now I have officially passed the CPA Exam!!! Thank you to Another71 for all the encouragement… I would feel horrible at times and read people going through the exact same challenges as me.
The most difficult mountains you climb in life, have the best view! Praise Jesus!!!

REG ?? (08/27/2016)December 16, 2016 at 11:07 pm #1394606xlam_nycParticipantNever thought I would post on this side of forum but I am pleased and blessed to say that I am finally DONE with the CPA Exam!! What a Merry Christmas 🎁🎄!
My motto for 2016 has been to buckle down and study like a mad woman. I passed all 4 parts in 2016. I even forced myself to become a morning person so I can study more and quietly without kid noises and thankfully the strategy and efforts paid off. All those months of sacrifices and Hubby being single parent were not in vain. For example I couldn't celebrate Mother's Day because I had an exam coming up the very next few days. My kids had to bring me their homemade breakfast to my study…sad but true. My advice to anyone willing to listen is: Never let naysayers tell you it can't be done. Definitely don't say that to a mother…oh the willpower of a mother! Being a liberal art major, I certainly followed the accounting and CPA path unconventionally. You can say I am a chronic but proud scorer of 75! Nonetheless studying and passing the CPA exam are doable if YOU believe in yourself and NEVER give up. Just look at me: passing the 4 grueling parts of CPA exam at the mature age of 40 with more wrinkles, gray hair, and dark circles then before. I have studied almost exclusively with Gleim and sticked with one section at a time until I passed. Oh and I kept the whole CPA exam journey confidential so to stay focused and avoid unnecessary pressure. Even my mother didnt know about my CPA exam journey! At the end of the day, it is all worth it! I am forever grateful to the Another71 forum for all the advice and support. Happy Holidays all!

FAR - 9/1/16December 19, 2016 at 2:00 am #1395807mmccpa_caParticipantI did it! I am finally done with the 4-Part CPA exam. It has been an excruciating journey and I am thrilled to finally close this chapter of my life.
I am fortunate enough to be able to take time off (about a year) to focus on getting my CPA. I give all the credit to my husband for making it possible. And now I am more than ready to re-join the workforce and face the real world. 🙂Congratulations to all who have successfully completed the 4-Part CPA exam!!!
December 19, 2016 at 1:17 pm #1396121NoCoastParticipantI am officially DONE!!!! I have lurked this thread for most of my long journey in the hopes that I would one day be worthy of posting! Can't believe I never have to study again. This feeling is just surreal. Huge shout out to Jeff! If it wasn't for NINJA products, I do not know if I would have passed. I truly cannot thank you enough. I haven't teared up yet, but I might when I finally can delete the NINJA audio from my ipod! Thanks again to Jeff, and the entire Another71 community!!!
