I passed the CPA on February 28th. I got my license number last Wednesday via email. I haven’t received any additional information or my certificate. Is this normal? I don’t even know how to renew my license when it expires in June 2015?

In Indiana, you have to pay for a wall certificate. You also have to pay for a wallet certificate card.

In June 2015, log into your account and there will be an option to renew.

Is this really the website? It is just a frame store. Does Indiana not have signatures on their certificates? This seems like someone anyone can order.

The IN.gov addresses are for the state board of accountancy sites; however, they don't sell/issue wall certificates which look good framed. The IN.gov site will only issue or sell you small sized certificates. You have to go to an outside vendor for those fancy, large wall certificates which people frame and hang in their offices.

    Just the way it is.

So how do I find out when my CPE starts or any additional information. This seems really weird that you order a certificate online. Can't anyone order one? Your information is definitely right. It just seems really messed up!

Indiana hasn't even given me any information about where to send CPE credit or how to send CPE credit.

You track your own CPE and you don't send anything to the State Board. In Indiana, you are solely responsible for adhering to the CPE standards.

If you work at a CPA firm that goes thru peer review, the peer reviewers will sample staff and examine CPE records for compliance. Also, the Indiana CPA Society samples roughly 10% of the members each year for compliance. Also, your own firm might have some sort of internal compliance review – our Firm does.

You should have gotten a letter from the State Board of Accountancy which details what CPE window you are in and what CPE you are required to get to keep your license in this first partial year. I received my letter about a month after I passed my last part.

You don't have to order one of those fancy wall certificates from that outside vendor. The State of Indiana will sell you a much smaller version (it's about 5″x7″) and it's very generic, and it looks nothing like those large certificates hanging on the office walls of CPAs.
