    First off, congratulations!

I started this thread so that Cali folks have a place to go to see how long it might take to get their license. If you’re in the CBA process and have some dates to share, please do. I’ll update as I receive more info, but here’s what I’ve got so far:

12/27/13 – Application received by CBA

01/09/14 – Received postcard stating application was received

01/10/14 – Check cashed by CBA

01/17/14 – Received letter recognizing that I passed all 4 parts

    ✓ AUD: (02/12/13) 71 | (05/31/13) 80
    ✓ REG: (05/13/13) 75
✓ BEC: (08/06/13) 80 - Unwilling participant in the "Server Upgrade" debacle
    ✓ FAR: (08/31/13) 65 | (12/06/13) 75 - Beat the Cali Education Requirement
    ✓ PETH: (12/25/13) 86 | (12/26/13) 92
    ✓ CA CPA: (02/13/14)

@rowe33 – when did the CBA receive the $120 initial license fee. I'm trying to figure out how long it takes from the date it is received to the 5/7 date you saw your license # on the website.

They are SUPER slow in general…my name just made it to the license lookup list over the weekend…haven't received the actual hardcopy of the license though : /

I mailed off my application on 6/30.

Yesterday (7/21) I received a letter saying I wrote them a check for too much money because as of 7/1 the application fee is only $50, and not $250.They are going to send me a check for $200.

I also called yesterday (7/21) and the lady who answered the phone said the paperwork was received 7/16, so I should receive the 30 day letter by 8/16.

They still haven't cashed my $250 check.

    I don't anticpate being a CPA until September 🙁

Wow thats pretty fast. it took them over a month to get me that letter saying there going to review it, but my pre-approval letter was sent the next business day, so you cuold be getting it anyday now. However….its been two weeks tomorrow since I sent in my payment for the license and they still have not posted it on the website or generated my license number as of yesterday's update…hopefully tomorrow I'll wake up tomorrow with it posted to the website, with my license number, so I can officially be a CPA. Best of luck to you and hopefully your process is quick.

Just called the CBA and got my license number over phone!!!! Exactly 8 and 1 day weeks from the time I sent my application in. So happy!

Let me say as well….that even though it took a while for the California Board of Accountancy to process my application….every time I called for an update, they were overall very helpful, informative and friendly throughout the process.
