I am updating my resume-how do I reflect (if at all) that my CPA license is in progress?

Hi @anyatver, I am waiting for the Board to issue my license as well but I'm waiting until it's issued to update my resume. If I was to update it now, I would include something like “*CPA license pending” after my education information.

    Never give up!

    FAR - 84 (11/13/17)

    AUD - 82 (5/3/17)

    REG - 75 (1/27/18)

    BEC - 75 (4/29/18)

If you're applying for jobs currently, a cover letter would be an ideal place to include that important detail.

    AUD - 92
    BEC - 89
    FAR - 79
    REG - 84

I updated my resume over the weekend so I could give it to a couple people who've been asking for it. I added that I recently submitted my application so potential employers could see that I'm close to being licensed and meet all the requirements.

@Anyatver:hey congrats again on the pass and all the hard work put in as well. I am still trying to get this behind me in a positive way. Time is going by and I seem to be getting slower in study. Much luck to you. I guess where to put your pending license is good problem to have.

@Tncincy-thank you! Good luck-you can do it, it will just take time! 🙂 I am thinking of exploring getting another job after 17 years at the same place, it's scary but no risk no reward right?

My regretful answer is no. I start, stop, spend more money, start stop and start again. I'm studying now. Seriously need to get this done. I'm using my becker my children bought me for a gift and I'm ordering the ninja mcq's to supplement. I'm preparing for the end of August very early September. Depends on when seats are available.

What I did, and currently doing, is to have a section on your resume for certifications, but list CPA in progress. For instance:
Candidate for the Uniform CPA Exam
    Passed FAR, AUD, and BEC
Testing appointment for REG scheduled for 1/8/2018
Completed education requirement of 150 credit hours
Completed experience requirement of two years

I was told by my state board ot be very specific. Something like “I've passed all 4 sections of the CPA exam and the remaining requirements are currently being reviewed by the state board”.

    AUD - 79
    BEC - 81
    FAR - 84
    REG - 78
Becker Self Study supplemented with Ninja MCQ's for BEC and REG.

    Licensed CPA in Louisiana.

    FAR 04/11/2016 - 84
    AUD 05/12/2016 - 79
    BEC 07/06/2016 - 81
    REG 08/29/2016
