I am so confused regarding the Ethics course requirements in Texas. We had to take an ethics course to even sit for the CPA exam, but now that I have passed all 4 parts and gotten my certificate application it is saying that you have to take an ethics course “no more than 6 months prior to your date of certification”. What the heck?? Do I have to take ANOTHER ethics course? What was the point of requiring us to take it before sitting for any sections?n

There is a ethics college class requirement AND a special (self-study) ethics course they make you take after you pass the exam but before they license you.n

Thanks for the info. They told me I had to take a course from the approved list that was included in my packet, but they had mistakenly sent me the list of approved college courses instead of the CPE ethics course info. It makes much more sense now.n
