I was having a conversation with a family member one time and was talking about my desire to work in auditing.

Their reply: “Why are you taking the CPA exam if you’re not going to do taxes?”

Anyway, I was just wondering how many of you actually do your own taxes?n

oh yeah. I did my taxes from my first job in highschool and have done them every year since. Taxes just seem to intimidate people, but for the most part are not really that difficult (for the average person anyways). I have done it several years w/ schedule c, and schedule d. Never had to itemize my own, but I have taken a state and federal taxation class and learned all that stuff.n

I do my own too. I've actually always enjoyed doing taxes, I'm just strange like that. I'm curious to know if anyone doesn't though.n

I've always enjoyed doing my own taxes until this year. I think that has more to do with doing them the week after I took the REG exam than anything else.

An item of humor: I relentlessly mock an older co-worker of mine since he is always digging out one of those tiny plastic change purses. I ask him “Grandpa, what are those funny round things?” He got me back this year when he found out that not only do I do my own taxes, but I do them by hand on the form I get in the mail.n
