    Hello,

Finally I am completely done with the CPA, passed the Ethics exam yesterday and I am ready to fill up the License application. I am facing an obstacle and I hope to get an answer if someone had faced the same.

Under the working experience section in Alaska, Industry experience in accounting is acceptable but it has to be certified through a CPA. I have never worked under a US CPA before nor, I have worked in Public practice. Therefore, I am not sure how to proceed through this part. I have 14 years of industry experience.

I am quoting from the application directly: “Experience must include providing any type of service or advice involving the use of accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax, or consulting skills and related training all of which were verified by a supervising certified public accountant with an active license at the time of supervision. The experience is acceptable if it is gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public practice”

https://www.commerce.alaska.gov/web/portals/5/pub/cpa4092.pdf here is the application and I am refering to page # 13.

Has anyone faced anything like that?

    Thanks in advance
