Confused about Work Experience

Since the following are the work experience requirements for GA I have a question:

One (1) year of continuous qualifying experience:
-Must include a minimum of 2,000 hours
-Must be completed not more than one (1) year immediately preceding the date of application

I worked for a public accounting firm for 2 years until I quit in October 2017. I took a break to be a full time student and to study/take the exams and it seems the break from any work experience will be longer than 12 months and was worried about not meeting the experience requirement.

Would I still meet the experience requirement if I passed all parts and met all the other requirements and submitted my CPA application after, say, 16 months due to being a full time student for some of the time?

Also, if I were to get a job under a CPA by or before October 2018 (less than a 1 year break from any work experience) and lets say I pass all 4 parts by December 2018 then will I have met the experience requirement or would it not be considered 1 year of continuous qualifying experience?

I'd suggest you request your old firm to submit your proof of experience prior to October 2017?
I don't know much about GA so I can't help too much.
You might be better off calling your state's board directly.
