    Hello,

I’m currently a CPA in California with experience completed as G. I partnered up with a friend of mine, who has A experience and started our own practice.

Recently, we had an opportunity to do an audit (or at the least, a review) of this company and I figured I could get some hours accumulated and eventually go for A experience.

So I contacted the California Board of Accountancy and asked if this is possible, they said no. I explained to them that my partner will be guiding me during the audit process and I will be strictly follow his order.

My question is… So people who are running their own practice will never be able to achieve A experience? If this is true, isn’t it kind of unfair? Is there a way to acquire the A experience and still be able to run my own business?
