    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how can we check if we’ve met the education requirements online after we’ve submitted all of our transcript to them. I’m sending like three different transcripts to them and I just want to make sure there are no surprises later. Is there a site we can go to see that we have met the requirement? Or do they send us something?

    Thanks!!

Wow thanks for the wonderful feedback people. I was kinda expecting no one to respond to this thread after no one did the day of the post. Great stuff. I think for me, I'm like 90% sure I got it. The classes I have in the bag pretty matches up directly with the requirements. And I just remembered that I don't even have to met the new educational requirements because I passed my exams prior to Dec 2013. Keep that in mind people for those who also did the same!

@StephAV CC classes here in California are really cheap. I think they used to be $20 a unit but are probably more like $40 a unit now. I find all my textbooks online for free in PDF format. The new company I work for does some sort of tuition reimbursement thing too. I re-checked my units and I think I might actually have Ethics covered! I had 15 units I put in that category as maybes and found 10 to be definites… like I'd be REAL surprised if any didn't get approved.

Hey for those who are in California, when you go on your account in the cba site(the site where you check your CPA scores) and you go under the education tab, it should lists all of your colleges on there. And then it shows a column titled “Sent Transcript/Eval”. It says yes to all my schools even though I don't think I had sent one yet for one of them. Hmm. Does anyone have “no” answered for some of their's?

I'm also curious as to SammyJ's question. It says to check ‘yes' if “you are having a U.S. college or university send new transcripts to the Board at this time, please indicate “Yes” in the box.” I took this to mean that you could check ‘no' if you had already sent in transcripts before sending in your application and payment… is this an accurate assumption?

    Hi guys,

I just emailed the CBA to ask if we are able to email or mail in the completed self-assessed worksheet to get confirmation that our education requirement is satisfied. I don't understand why they wouldn't allow this or encourage it to prevent future hassles. I understand that there could be changes to things and that's why they might not want to give confirmation if something were to change in the future (such as CA changing to 150 units this past Jan), however they should be able to give you confirmation that is good for like a year or something. I'll report back what they say. The current pathways should be in place for the next few years at least.

Also, mine says “yes” under the sent transcript/eval category.

They never replied to me, so I re-sent my email a few days ago and just got this response:

“In response to your email, the CBA is unable to evaluate transcripts for licensing requirements until an application for licensure has been received. Additionally, due to the high volume of requests the CBA is unable to confirm receipt of transcripts for licensing requirements until an application for licensure has been received.”

That's ridiculous. I will literally rage if they find me 1 or 2 credits short on the day I apply when I have 8 months of just sitting here waiting for my experience to reach a year, when I could be fulfilling those credits.

    Hiya,

I applied in 2009, only to have the CA board deny some of my credits. Went back and took more classes to meet that requirement. Applied again, pretty certain that I had them all, but this time a different examiner denied some of the previously accepted credits, and I still came up short. There really is no arguing, so back to school I went…again. I reapplied last December and found out this January that everything was accepted. I tell you though, it was extremely frustrating. I made a monster spreadsheet showing all my coursework from 25 years and *many* different universities and colleges. I called around for all the course catalogs to show descriptions of the classes I had taken, since most were not even offered, or with different course numbers. I was truly ready this time, but ended up not needing it, as the board finally decided I had enough credits. I have no doubt that this will happen again next year trying to defend my 150 hours with the correct breakdown of course topics. Sigh…

    Good luck with everything!

Sam: yes they don't do that, says so in the handbook. I'm a little concerned myself as I'm on my last exam and if all goes well will be applying for licensure in a few months. I found them very helpful when calling in on questions of my transcripts needed to sit, so I'm hoping for something similar when I'm bugging them once a week for a status update on licensure!

On the topic….does anybody know ow if the same course can count for two different buckets? So can I use the same audit course toward accounting and ethics? Or is it only one bucket per class?

    MBA,CMA,CPA, CFF?, ABV?
