    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know how can we check if we’ve met the education requirements online after we’ve submitted all of our transcript to them. I’m sending like three different transcripts to them and I just want to make sure there are no surprises later. Is there a site we can go to see that we have met the requirement? Or do they send us something?

    Thanks!!

Have you gone on your exam account at https://www.cba.ca.gov/cbt_private/login_form. There is an education tab and it shows the transcripts they have received and there is some information there about the education requirement. I'm not sure what kind of notification you get if you don't have enough credits. Good luck!

I'm in the same boat. I think I have all the requirements and actually made a spreadsheet with my classes put into each category and while obviously I find it satisfactory (even being conservative with their rules), they might have an issue with one or two items and I'd hate to find out as I am going to submit my app that I have to take another class.

I'd like to know this as well. Esp since my educational requirements are completed down to 1 unit so if 1 class is wrong or not credited, it's going to be a bitch.

@Birthday Yeah that's essentially what I did, but again, I dunno how to strict they are with course titles and wording, so 1 or 2 of mine are iffy even I think they are ok. Like I have a course named Operational Management when this PDF says Organizational Management. I assume that is the same thing.

Operational Management = process management…widgets, stats, bell curve probability, bottlenecks, etc.

Organizational Management = Organizational Behavior (HR related stuff)

If anyone wants to hear my horror story…here goes.

I applied in 2010; sent ALL my transcripts from 25+ years and SIX universities. That took enough time in and of itself, just tracking down where I had taken classes all those years ago. A lot can and does change in 25 years, so many of my classes no longer had the same course number, description and were not listed in current catalogs.

I made a spreadsheet of what I thought I had and crossed my fingers. It came back denied for a couple of credits. Not to worry, I took another class and sent it again. Hurray, I was accepted! No, wait, I was UNaccepted a week later. Seems that one of the examiners decided not to accept some courses that they had previously accepted. Darn. Back to school.

Applied again in 2012. Hurray, accepted! Darn, unaccepted AGAIN. They couldn't find some of my courses. I mailed away for archive copies of all my original course catalogs, highlighted, underlined, armed for bear, and sent them in again, and took another class for good measure. Finally, in 2013, I was green-lighted for real this time. Don't get me started on the whole exam application process. Suffice it to say, it was an experience, but here I am đŸ™‚

They will not shut the door on me!

I was fortunate that everyone I spoke with at the CA Board was very understanding and patient with my issues and were able to help me through it.

Best wishes everyone for a smooth process!

I'm stalking this thread… I'm going to be cutting the 150 units incredibly close… As in, I will have exactly 150 units. I'm doing 15 units through the UNA PAPP program right now. And plan to take what I beleive is my last and final unit from University of Phoenix in September or October. I've gone through the requirements and I think that I have them covered… My biggest concern is the Ethics requirement. I think I meet the requirement with the following courses:

Managing the Legal Environment – 3 units

Human Resource Management – 3 units

    Managing People/Business Processes/Change – 3 units

    Auditing – 3 units

I also took a few religion classes and philosophy that I thought might work if needed. But I feel like these 4 classes are solid. Right?

I really would like to call the CBA and go over my transcript with them. I've called and asked questions and they are helpful to a point. They will refer you to the website. I think that worksheet up thread is really helpful.

I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

@StephAV I have an Auditing course for 4 credits, but it says only 1 credit will be accepted from Auditing I guess? That's where it kills me.

Damn. I did notice a new accounting ethics course available in the fall at my local community college. It might be a cheap option of getting credit and solidifying your ethics requirements.

After my exam on Saturday, I am gonna get my education stuff figured out incase I need to take a dumb effing ethics class or not. I would do an online CC course if so.

I'm going to do 1 unit at Phoenix, I was planning on 4 until they told me the price per unit is ~$400-600. EEK! I'm pretty sure my work will pay for everything… If they don't pay for my Phoenix class that would be pretty much my only out of pocket. I'm taking Alternative Medicine for 1 unit it is a 2 week course and will cost me (or my company, hopefully) $490. They've paid all my fees and the UNA classes. I'm underpaid… So I guess this evens things out.

Yeah that 1 unit for Audit? What is up with that? I have sooo many accounting and business classes it is hard to imagine them saying I don't meet any of the requirements. I guess I should still be okay because I have 9 other units that appear to fall into this category. The Philosophy and Religion courses can't help you out on Ethics? None of mine have “Survey” or “Introduction” in the title of the course. But doesn't everyone have to take an intro philosophy class?

@samdiego – The UNA PAPP BLAW class is easy to get through quickly if you are already familiar with the subject. It is a little pricey, but after you pay tuition and books at a CC, it might not be that far off. The UNA classes are $495 each, all in. Of course this would only work if you can use that to fulfill the Ethics requirement assuming you probably already have a BLAW course included. I'd check with the CBA on that. I did ask the CBA if repeating courses was a problem like the UNA courses I took were all courses I took for my degree and they said as long as it is not the same school then that is fine… Good luck!
