I have taken two tests already. They were totally different questions. But I received emails from Calcpa to tell me which questions I did wrong and what the wrong answers are. Is this new? Because my friend told me they did not tell her which questions she did wrong when she took the exam a year ago. And she just saw two different sets of tests. Is there anyone take the exam recently? Is the third attempt will be a totally different one?

From what I recall, I think you can ask CalCPA and get another three attempts?

Also, I failed my first attempt and the second attempt was a lot easier (still difficult, but not as insane as the first attempt).

Hi all

Wow….after reading all these replies I am now a bit intimidated by the CA Ethics exam.

Did anyone take this exam shortly after completing the ethics class which is now an educational requirement? It feels like the class deals with a lot of tough hypothetical situations especially on independence.

I am hoping I will be better prepared. We deal directly with the AICPA and CA codes.

I failed my ethics exam the first time.
Here's my two cents –
1) Make sure you get the pdf version, so you can do a quick word search as you are taking the exam.
2) Make sure you differentiate general ethics rules and California-specific rules. You can look at the table of contents. Read the question carefully and see if the question is for California-specific situation vs. general.
