Hi all. Does anyone know if the supervisor that is supposed to sign off on your 1 year of general accounting experience has to have an ACTIVE CPA license? I worked for 2 individuals who both hold INACTIVE CPA licenses.

    Appreciate the help! Thanks!

The license of the supervisor needs to be active. See the licensing handbook from the CBA.

    AUD - 70
    BEC - 75
    FAR - 75
    REG - 85

    Thank you for clarifying!

I was confused because it does say an active license is required in the handbook, but on the actual form they don't use the word “active.” The below came from the form under the heading “Who completes:”

The licensed CPA holding a valid license to practice public accounting
who supervises the applicant’s performance of services provided.
