While I’m in limbo waiting on scores, I figure I might knock out the ethics exam this week. But I’m a little confused by the options on the site. There is text, online for licensure, and just online. Does anyone know what the differences are? I just want to make sure I get the right one.

Before anyone asks, I am definitely in a state that requires this (Illinois). I got the link for the course directly from the Board’s website.

Hey everyone – I've been doing some research on the ethics exam and how to take it, but I am soo confused. Should I just order the review book and it has all of the instructions? I just don't understand where/how to take the exam. There does not seem to be a website anywhere to register but my state board just says we need to take it. I want to take it as soon as I take my last exam to get it over with.

Yeah, you just order the book and all the instructions are in there. I took it about a month ago, and the website and login instructions are included with the book.

Hello everyone,

I am planning to take my ethics exam this week and I am about to be done reading the book.
I have downloaded the PDF file from the resources tab, however it does not have the examination questions at the end of the file. I found a 2015 AICPA ethics guide online and that has the questions at the end. Now my question is to those who have taken the exam recently, are these questions same as the actual exam questions? and how many questions if the exam – 40 or 46?

I'm having the same problem as Deepika! I have seen everyone say the questions are in the back of the pdf. This isn't true or I just can't find them? Can anyone help? I've looked all over the participant manual in the online course for licensure.

I'm not sure there are specific “questions” in the back, but there appear to be the solutions for all of the Knowledge Check questions throughout the PDF. I'm guessing this is what everyone is referring to?

Curious if anyone actually takes notes for this, or if going through the course and occasionally referring to the PDF during the test is sufficient. Is the test timed?

I had to take this again this year for my firm's ethics requirements (insert eyeroll). It looks like they have changed the book, so the questions are not there any longer.

@PC – I did not take notes, and I did not go through the course. I pulled up the book and used ctrl + f as I went through the test. It is not timed.
