Just thought I would share this with everyone. Living at home this summer. My brothers friend wont shut up about how hard his 100 level Biology class is and it is getting extremely annoying. He is taking it this summer and has all the old tests too. My brother told me that he compares it to CPA thinking it is just as hard. Cells, atoms, protons, neutrons, and electrons… They just quizzed me about what was in H2O…and I said Hydrogen and Oxygen…My brothers friend said it was Hydrogen and Carbon!?!

    haha

To All, Bachelor of Science and MBA are not a waste. I'm sure not all MBA shcools are the same so pick an MBA program from an established school….

Also, the unemployement rate is high.

But the following facts I did not pull out of my a$$:

May 2010 – Unemployment rate for those 25 and older without a college degree – rate = 10.9

May 2010- Unemployment rate for those with a colllege degree and more – rate – 4.7

Quiz. Who know what the US unemployemnt rate is for CPAs?

It all depends how much money you spend to get your education. If you have to take out $100K in loans for your education, that is exactly a waste of money. You will never see a return on that investment.

If you pay $10K cash for an MBA, that may not be a waste of money. My personal opinion – the united states has already seen peak wages and it is downhill from here. In order to compete in a global economy the only direction USA wages can go is down. Just my personal opinion – an MBA in addition to CPA is of no difference than just a CPA. If a company is looking to hire a CPA, both candidates will be interviewed and it will come down to the interview, not the MBA.

“Public” schools are no longer public (local). Power has shifted from the parents at the local level to the state. That is the main problem with government schools. That is why “public” schooling is now a dismal failure. School vouchers would shift power back to parents and away from the state and teacher unions. In business we call that decentralization.
