I am testing for FAR on Feb 21 and using CPAExcel (wiley, july 2014) and ninja notes and MCQs.I know there are some updates in FAR. Will they be tested in 1st quarter testing window or will they be tested starting 3rd quarter. I have heard that any changes would be tested only after 6 months.

I am having a hard time understanding few things in FAR, Its taking too long for me to sink in the concept. Is that normal with FAR or something wrong with me. Please advice and share your experiences.

Shubh06 I understand completely what you mean hence why I think I failed the first time. FAR is just a monster of a section and you just have to take your time with certain sections of it, which I didn't do since I was trying to rush through everything. Now that I'm studying for the re-take I am really taking the time to go through each section and do all MCQs for each section without skipping anything. Some parts take longer to master. Don't worry this is completely normal from everyone says on here. As I've been told before you're in good company. 🙂 Also, they can test you on the new material in 2015 as early as Q1 since they announced the changes in Q3 2014. Your review materials should include 2015 updates but if you don't see anything you should reach out to them. I'm studying with Roger and they updated the materials on Dec 1 and I know Jeff will have his material updated by 12/22. Good luck with studying!

I really wouldn't sweat it. I was using the 2011 Wiley book and not using any supplemental materials.

You should be fine with the 2014 materials.

Don't break the bank. I was able to pass these things and spend under $100 on study materials in total for all four exams..
