Restudying FAR

I was wondering how much time others have dedicated to studying for FAR after initially failing. Before I received my score, I planned on taking REG October 1st and BEC some time in November. Now I’m thinking:

    REG October 1

FAR October 30 (four weeks to read textbook, redo MCQs, and add NINJA notes. no lectures)

    BEC November 30

Realistically, is four weeks enough to prepare for FAR? I know you’re suppose to start from scratch, but I didn’t find the lectures that useful the first time around & I think those hours would be better spent reading the textbook which I didn’t do the first time around. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    REG - 82
    BEC - 78
    AUD - 76

I did not fail FAR but I failed AUD, so I can give you some insight on that.I feel like my approach would have been similar regardless of which exam I took. I restudied for audit for 3-4 weeks (not strenuous only a couple hours a day, I recommend at least a month for FAR). I as well did not read the book first time through and got a 70…I know how that feels! My re-study plan was exactly this:

-read and take notes on each chapter

    -redo all MC

-read more of why you got questions wrong…I always got mad and just moved on instead of trying to figure out how to do it right

-did a ton of wiley test bank questions

    -look at ninja notes

Thats basically all you can do for a restudy in my mind. I think you are right by saying the lectures are a waste of time after you have their notes in the book, I certainly wouldnt waste your time on that unless you learn well by listening. But my number one tip for FAR attempt 2 is knowing your journal entries! Try and write them out as much as you can. Im not sure what your weaknesses were but this is certainly an area that can make you or break you for the simulations.

Thanks so much, cchiz! Waiting until the last minute to learn journal entries was also a huge mistake I made the first time around. I'll def keep all your tips in mind when I start restudying for the exam. Thanks again!
