@proach33: Know the content specification outline in the beginning of the Becker book. In terms of time management, if you've studied enough that you know the questions word for word and are sick of doing more problems, I recommend about 35-55 minutes per section (this includes breaktime) depending on difficulty. Otherwise, I'd stick with Becker's recommendation. I still try to give myself as much time on sims as possible because if you know the research tab, some of the simulations in FAR could end up being free points.

I would like to be a part of the passing group this quarter too! This will be my first exam and I have been out of undergrad for over a year. I am worried if I will have enough time to pass this quarter or wait until January?

So discouraged by far so far. Has me thinking what kind of accountant I am that I been in public accounting for a long time already and I'm clueless in 70% of what I'm seeing so far. Has me so stressed out that I can't concentrate on it so I'm getting nowhere. I need to be pounding out 100-200 mcq's a day and read ninja notes etc. and I'm lucky if I do 50 before I give up.

Maybe I need this vacation I'm going on the end of next week. A week away might do me some good at this point. Either that or I'll come home with even less motivation to somehow learn all this material by nov 30th.

I knew FAR would be the hardest for me but it's worse then I thought. And if I don't pass in November it's going to go into busy season when at work till 11pm every night.

Someone please tell me something to make me believe that this section is not as hard as I feel it is so far before I have a breakdown. Lol.

6 years I have technically been at this. I'm so close I can taste it. But far might kill me.

    Sorry for the vent

@ihatestudying.. I truely believe that they make FAR seem a lot harder than it really is. Don't sell yourself short! You seem to be doing what you should be doing. I know when I took FAR last month I had no confidence in myself what so ever when I walked into the testing center. When I walked out I was absolutely certain that I got a 50 and yes, I failed but I came out with a 71. I guess what I am trying to say is don't let the amount of material overwhelm you. Enjoy your vacation and when you come back maybe you will be refreshed and it won't seem as daunting. We are all here for you!

to Ihatestudying.. FAR has a lot of information.I just go fast through the MC the first time and then re them twice in detail, then just move on. It makes more sense the second time around.

ok…so last night i was re-thinking my study situation for FAR since im pretty clueless…

exammatrix worked so far, and i already purchased and started it (barely) so im going to stick with it.

However, a friend of mine just gave me his 2011 yeager home study (is 2011 still ok?)

so i think what im going to do is, and tell me if anyone thinks this is a bad idea…..im going to continue exammatrix on weeknights, and on weekends watch the yeager FAR lectures. i am not going to do the yeager/wiley questions though, only follow the examples in the wiley book during the lectures, this way i can hopefully get through the 60 hours of videos. My main source of questions will still be the exammatrix program, supplemented with the few wiley questions that are done together during the lectures.

Do you guys think that watching the lecture videos straight through without stopping and doing wiley questions that yeager wants you to do, will be a big help?

Since i wantt o continue exammatrix program mon-friday, hopefully a few hours each day on saturday and sundays will be enough to get through the videos and hopefully give me a little bit of a foundation on some of the topics and calculations etc.

    @ihatestudying

a different point of view and more questions never hurt but i gotta warn you there is a lot of reading from the book on the lectures. also they use a hand out so make sure you get that along with the updates

i like when cindy and gary teach, not a big fan of phil

From what I've heard 2011 and 2012 aren't too different, but I have 2012 so I could not be certain. Yaeger does sell updates on their website if needed and do a podcast that is helpful. There was a FAR podcast just a month ago.

How strongly do any of you suggest Ninja Notes? I bombed REG pretty bad and it shook my confidence. I spent a lot of time with the Yaeger lectures writing notes during the videos. This would turn a one hour video into two, easily. I think if I were to read and rewrite notes and then watch the lectures I would be able to focus more during them. I want to get the most out of my study time and not completely waste my 20's on this test.

    Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Im about half way through F8, and will be done by Monday at this point… I just looked over some of the earlier calculations from F2, F5.. just to see if I even understood some of the stuff… and then looked in the book.. I forgot everything!!!! There are such SMALL details to every calculation.. I simply cannot remember everything… Ill probably have 9-10 days to review everything for a second and hopefully third time..

    Does anyone feel like this?

REG: PASS || BEC: PASS || AUD: PASS || F: SCORE PENDING..

    Reg - August 2012- 82

Got ~2 hours left for F8, then F9 & F10 to go. For my review I'll probably shoot for 300MCQ a day for about 3 weeks. I have a lot of review time so I need to keep it continuous so I dont lose it.
