keeptrying – The notes thing is what absolutely pushed me over for FAR.

I understand the frustration with the score report. On my 74 FAR, I had stronger and comparable on every section. The only weaker was on SIMs (which I know which ones did me in). That made it difficult to study since I thought I was good on everything except those two topics (which I studied heavily and didn't get on the next exam, of course). Focus on those areas that were weaker but don't neglect the others. NOTES!!

well i've decided that i'm taking the rest of this week off and weekend from thinking about this exam other than organizing a study plan. I am going to get a calendar to put down my goal hours per day and then actual hours that way I can keep my goal insight and make sure i stay on track. I really appreciate the advice and support. This forum continues to amaze me with all the support you guys give me! After all who best understands the pressures of this exam….

BEC-this time NINJA notes, Yeager homestudy and Gleim MCQs. I've used Becker as well and I supplemented with Becker and even Gleim's textbook when I didn't understand something the way Yeager taught it. I'm totally reevaluating my approach this time…its me not the material…it has to be.

@keeptrying- I'm sorry to hear about the bad news. Let me share with you my unique study technique that I used when studying for BEC. I call it the Cheating Method. Keep practicing with the Gleim software and do a lot of MCQs using Study Mode. But this time, do not answer any question unless you're at least 90% sure. If you can answer a question on your own, then answer it and see if you get it right. If you get it wrong, read the answer explanation and find out why you got this questions wrong when you were so sure you knew it.

Now, if you find a question that stumps you (and there should be A LOT of them), look it up in your review books. If you can't find it in your review books, then google it. Keep searching for the answer until you find out how to solve it. This is why I call it the Cheating Method. You're cheating by looking up the answer. But the reason why I highly recommend this approach is because it forces you to figure out the answer for yourself. By just guessing and reading the answer explanations, you'll subconsciously be memorizing answers without actually grasping the concept. This Cheating Method forces you to figure out the concept to the subject that the question is asking about.

I admit, this kind of study method is tedious, time consuming and can be frustrating, but it worked very well for me. Maybe it might work for you.

for my score report, I was weaker in everything except:

stronger: strategic planning, operations management

comparable: financial management

comparable in WC

I still managed a stronger overall in mcq. My advice to you is to MASTER strategic planning and COSO. Just focus your studies on those two topics and briefly review everything else, you have enough knowledge of the topic to pass.

Ignore IT, financial management, econ, etc. You can definitely pass BEC.
