Me too. Got FAR on Sunday – a retake.

Started out my review working multiple choice quizzes… averaged scores between 63 and 72. Yikes, I got a 72 last time, so that made me nervous.

Day two, tried to review details and got overwhelmed – only covered 2 out of the 4 topics allotted for that day. (didn't help being home sick)

Day three, sleep through alarm. Mad at myself. Opened NINJA notes @ lunch and started writing…. WOW, I actually remember stuff!

My advice is do as many MCQs as you can muster. Try study mode so that you get feedback right away and can analyze why it's right or wrong. At this point, developing momentum to read and pick apart questions is crucial to the timing and success on your exam.

When tired of MCQ's, rewrite notes. Remember it's bredth over depth, but be sure to cover the hot topics like Governmental/NFP, Bonds, Leases, Pensions and Cost/Equity methods. PV is used often in all types of topics, so be sure you remember whether to multipy or divide. Memorize the COGS formula. BI+purchases=available for sale – EI = COGS.

    Good Luck!!

Anyone else have advice/review methods that have been good for them?? I heard someone likes to re-read all the chapters… don't know if I can read fast enough!!

I'm starting my review tonight for FAR and my exam is on 11/2. After I completed the MCQ/lecture/etc for each section, I made my own FCs (studied the ones I didn't know daily…the others 1-2x a week) and did a progress test (10 Qs from each question) after each section. I'm not sure how to go about reviewing. My plan was to go through each section (re-read the section) and do the MCQs and SIMs again, taking notes on the stuff I'm weak on to keep studying. After redoing everything again, focus on the weak areas while doing progress tests a bunch of times before taking the 2 final exams. Thoughts from anyone?

I would recommend doing the following:

    1. Thoroughly reviewing your notes (especially if you have Ninja Notes, and any you took during lectures and MCQ)

    2. Take a Diagnostic Test –> There is no point doing 40 MCQ over a section that you know backwards and forwards.

    3. Analyze the sections you suck at –> for me it is usually SHE, Stmt CF, Governmental, PV Leases & Bonds.

    4. Thoroughly read all notes for the section you are starting with (ie. SHE).

    5. Do 20-30 MCQ quizzes with at least a sim or two if applicable. Go through all the sections this way until you feel comfortable and have learned what you are missing. Sometimes you need to listen to the lecture again or read the text if it just isn't sticking.

Then repeat the steps until test day

@akb9874 I just copied and pasted that into my Ninja planner 🙂 I think it's a great review plan. Thanks!
