    Thank you FIFOisbetterthanLIFO!!! Very helpful!!!

Good luck with Reg! My advice is be sure to know BLaw and basis! I had a ton of questions on those! And for the sims, be able to fill out actual forms, like a Sch E or Form 1040. Good luck!

I am not giving up on this exam it is a personal goal of mine to get those 3 letters behind my name. I am claiming that this will be my final time studying for FAR. I am going to start studying for my retake this Sunday. We can do this!

We can all do this. We all need to remind ourselves that this is a test of persistent not intelligent. We can get through it.

I've also been wondering about this. Hopefully someone can answer it. How many time can you retake the same test in one testing window? Is it only one time? Thanks

I am looking for something to help me with my understanding of governmental accounting. I have been out of school for 5 years (textbooks are long gone) and we never really spent any time on governmental. I am using the Becker book for FAR and their explanations just aren't cutting it. That said, I'm just now finishing up F8. Does it all start to come together after F9? If not I don't want to waste my time going through the lectures and book. I can try to memorize the topics but I would much rather understand them. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

It didn't come together for me using becker. I actually found Becker to be pretty confusing with this topic. For me, doing the questions is what helped. Despite my fail, I was actually stronger on governmental. I watched youtube videos on lectures and did all of the ninja MCQs. Becker didn't really do it for me. Good luck!

    this was a good lecture:

    Determined, thanks for the info.

ShmeePA, the lectures on those topics really didn't help me much but the MCQ's helped. Reading the explanations to the questions helped more than the lecture. Just my opinion.

@CTM, just curious what you did your 3rd go around on FAR that caused your score to go down?

I never put in enough study time and I took a 5 month break from pure frustration after the 74. I always skipped over F9 and F10 (especially governmental and IFRS). I tried to rely on my stronger areas. If you make it through all of the Becker material, especially all of the MCQ's and book you should be good. I am also using NINJA MCQ's this go around to solidify my understanding of the material. It's all about putting in the time. Took me three tries at FAR to finally cave and decide to put in the work. This is nothing new to everything that I've seen on this forum; you have to put in the time if you want results.

I totally agree. I took my first exam right after Thanksgiving so I'm hoping that the quick turnaround is enough time to pass this beast. I cannot afford to fail and have to think about that all of Busy Season! #BeatFAR we got this!

If I fail FAR I lose reg! Refuse to let that happen! Scheduled for Jan 19th but waiting for the 17th to open! I like testing on Saturdays for some reason.

I wish I knew the release date – last thing I want to do is take it the day after the last day in the 1st release period and get stuck waiting 90 yrs for my result.
