F2 is generally a beast for everyone. Just have to keep hitting it until it starts to make sense. It's even good to put it down for a couple days and move on. Then come back and hit it again. There are a few areas of FAR that get tricky and might take some time to fully grasp. FAR ain't no joke.

Starting to burn out like crazy on my studying. I test next Saturday and I still don't feel good about this. Like always, I've thought of pushing the test back but I know I won't. At this point I just want to take it and hope for the best. I've hit it harder this time than ever in the past (WAY harder) and I still can do a 10 question MCQ group on NINJA and get a damn 60%. There is just SO much damn material for this. I spent about 4 weeks of half-ass studying on BEC and passed on the first try and now FAR has made me it's B****! Need some kind of motivation to push through and some luck on this stupid thing.

@Hixsoccer6 I actually get F2 now. This is my second go around with FAR but I have it down pretty much now. It was really hard for me to get and I think that is the reason i failed the first time (other than not looking at the sims). You will get there. You just have to take a step back and think about the journal entries for each question then it starts to make sense.

I'm using Becker and NINJA MCQ's. I'm really starting to hit the NINJA MCQ's hard now and I'm up to about 500. I started with the 2014 NINJA MCQ's, mostly hitting Gov't because this is the first time I have actually studied Gov't. I got up to 125 questions on 2014 before I switched over. I've gone through almost all of the Becker MCQ's except for cash flows and stockholder's equity. I have a decent understanding of both and will be knocking out both of those sections today. Again, those are just reviews of material I already have a decent grasp of.

CTM – doing 500 questions a day is awesome! My only concern is that if you're only scoring 60% when doing 10 questions, maybe that method isn't helping you retain the information. Maybe cut down to 300 questions a day (which is still a LOT of questions per day) and spend some time reading the becker book. I find that helps me a lot.

I was hoping you were using Ninja. I would click on the progress report tab and look at which topics you are struggling with a do sets of 30 on just those. Then read the becker book on those topics. To get even more into your troubled areas, click on progress reports and then on the top left click on detailed report. That will show you specifically which areas you are weak in. Read the book on the chapters and then do those questions.

So my advice is do less questions per day just for the sake of doing them. Do smaller sets of progress tests specifically on your troubled areas and read the book.

You need motivation? How about this – do you want to retake far again? BOOM – You are now motivated!

And also, you passed BEC the first time around. BEC is not an easy exam. If you can pass that one, you can pass this one!

NO WAY am I doing 500 a day. I've been hitting about 90-100 a day on average (after work and at lunch). That includes Becker MCQ's and NINJA. More on the weekends. I just started really using NINJA and I'm up to 500 attempts total at this point (not all 500 in one day). My study time dropped off some over the holidays but not much (there were a couple days I didn't study at all). Thanks for the NINJA info!

    Okay, any suggestions.

I am so burnt out from studying. I unfortunately could only afford the HUGE book by wiley CPA excel and well have been studying for 2 months and only a quarter of the way done. I don't have time or money to switch, so i got to keep using this text.

Any tips for how to keep motivated, keep momentum, and get back into studying? Can I skip some sections and still be okay? lol

Im literally falling asleep reading and my progress has slowed in half these past 2 weeks. I started drinking coffee everyday again even though to much of it consistently, makes me sick. UGH….

@stephaniem1221 you're not alone. im also burned out from work and studying but we just have to keep on keeping on. we dont have a choice unless we wanna take FAR again on Q2? I certainly do not want that to happen, so are you. Let's rise and grind @stephaniem1221. we can do this. @rocky123 @gabe made it in Q4. If they made it, we can make it too. ^_^.

anyone? i need help on this one: why do i need to add up the credit sales to come up with cash basis income? it was not stipulated that these credit sales were collected. am i missing something here? please anyone? thanks

    entries:

    accounts receivable…120,000

    ….sales……………………………….120,000

    sales…..4000

    ……sales discounts….4,000

    net effect: 114,000

The following information pertains to Eagle Co.'s 20X1 sales:

    Cash Sales

    Gross $ 80,000

    Returns and allowances 4,000

    Credit Sales

    Gross 120,000

    Discounts 6,000

On January 1, 20X1, customers owed Eagle $40,000. On December 31, 20X1, customers owed Eagle $30,000. Eagle uses the direct write-off method for bad debts. No bad debts were recorded in 20X1. Under the cash basis of accounting, what amount of net revenue should Eagle report for 20X1?

    A. $76,000

    B. $170,000

    C. $190,000

    D. $200,000

On the actual CPA exam are we allowed scratch paper? I tried doing MC on Becker with that very not awesome spreadsheet tool and got a lot wrong (due to miscalculating/having to extra think).

My assumptions (from what I read on Google):

    1. Real FAR CPA test also has that calculator (hopefully with commas like in Becker + tape)

    2. We are allowed some whiteboard type thing that comes with a marker?

If that is the case that's awesome. I do much better when I can jog down stuff (especially journal entries) while reading a problem.

Also, should I wait until I complete all 10 sections before using that Comprehensive Progress Test tool on the “Review before Exam” area. Or, would it be worthwhile to start using that after say every 3rd session (Progress test, checkmark F1, F2, F3).

    BEC 87 - 05/15
    REG 77 - 07/27

A note receivable bearing a reasonable interest rate is sold to a bank with recourse. At the date of the discounting transaction, the notes receivable discounted account should be:

increased by the face amount of the note.

    Anyone understand why?
