LoxRicanMemberHi lleon,
I'm using yaeger right now. How do you like CPA excel?

lleonMemberI've only used cpaexcel so I don't have what to compare it with, but I love it. FAR section has A LOT of information and some have mentioned that it's a bit of overkill in that sometimes it spends more time than necessary on topics that aren't heavily tested. I won't be able to attest to that until I take the exam, but personally I'd rather overprepare lol
I followed the exam planner for BEC (and actually didn't even get to the final review, by my own doing admittedly) and passed with an 85. Felt it prepared me well. I'll update after I take FAR and see how well prepared I feel for that one.

todd6414MemberTest day is Friday. There is still a few areas I'll dig into but at this point there's. It much more I could do. My question is how did you'll do on the practice exam (Becker). The first exam. It really didn't seem to hard and I felt ok but got a 70. :(. Now I'm shitting in my pants. Any opinions on the Becker practice exams? Thanks folks. I one could possibly understand our misery but us!

mjp44MemberThe premium on a 3-yr insurance policy expiring on December 31, 2013 was paid in total on Janurary 1, 2011. The original payment was initally debited to a prepaid asset account. The appropriate journal entry has been recorded on December 31, 2011. The balance in the prepaid asset account on December 31, 2011 should be,
A) zero
B) The same as it would have been if the original payment had been debited initially to an expense account
C) The same as the orginal payment
D) Higher than if the orginal payment had been debited initally to an expense account.
The answer is b and I cant quite grasp why.
If they purchased a 3 yr insurance policy( prepaid asset) and one year has gone by, the prepaid assets gets reduced by 1/3. Not sure how the balance would be the same if the payment wasnt debited to expense.
FAR- PASSED (11/13)
REG- PASSED (2/14)
BEC- PASSED (5/14)
AUD- PASSED (8/14)If it's important to you, you will find a way. If it isn't, you will find an excuse.

AnonymousInactiveMy test is on Monday and I was just wondering if anyone else was as worried about governmental as I am. I'm on my second time through the Wiley book and have a grasp on most of the concepts but governmental is just a bear. I never had any classes on it and there are so many nuances they can ask questions on I don't think it is possible to memorize it all. Should I spend time trying to drill down the details, or just have the basic concepts and hope that the questions I get aren't too detail oriented?

NySinghCPA1985MemberCount me in for FAR at the end of November. So I've taken BEC last week and it went ok.. I had taken FAR on July 30th and scored a 70.. i put in 3 months of hard work. I did well on multiple choice questions and evaluation shows that the multiple choice questions were comparable with passing candidates. I did poorly on simulations.
I am going to start studying today. Please anyone advice whether I should re-watch all hte videos and then do questions on passmaster or just focus primarily focus on questions only? I have 6 weeks to study.
Thank you
FAR 1/30/14 86 beast is slayed
REG 5/30/12 81 expired :/ Retake April or May 2014
