@ DJN I remember the criteria being – A major fund should be 10% of the total enterprise fund and/or(not sure here lol) 5% percent of governmental + Business (enterprise) to be considered a major fund. I'll check tomorrow to know for sure.

@ Finn You should have a minimum liability if the fair value of your plan assets is less than the ABO. I'm going based off of memory, but the ABO should always be less than the PBO.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!

I got 4 weeks to study FAR on my retake on 11/4 with a new full-time job (started 9/9) and NTS expiring on 11/7.

The public library close to my house is the best place (certainly quiet and conducive to learning) to study (2 hours only each day) but it closes at 8pm on weekdays. I can study 4-5 hours if I go to Starbuck on weekdays after work (closes at 11pm) . But the sound system at Starbucks bugs me. I don't mind listening to instrumental music while studying. But I find it difficult to concentrate on my studies when they play songs with lyrics. I could not study at home either. I always end up doing other things when I get home no matter how I plan to study.

So what's the best ear plug to buy to fix my problem?

    Hi everyone,

I am planning to take the FAR this late November too.

I am just waiting for my NTS (waiting on school documents to be sent over to the HQ) to arrive.

All of my knowledge of the intermediate accounting area are forgotten, so I am using Becker to re-learn.

For the people who are studying full time, how much are you studying a week?

I am doing 2 lectures/homework/simulation sections a week (out of 10 for Becker) and it feels really stressful.

I spend at least 8-10 hours a day (M-F) listening to lecture, read the textbook and take notes, doing the homework, re-doing the wrong answers, then do the simulations.

Then I am planning to spend parts of Sat/Sun to review my notes.

The lecture/textbook doesn't seem to cover enough material that are in the multiple choices which makes it more depressing since I spend a lot of time through the lectures too and then I find out I don't even understand 1/2 of the homework questions. It makes me wonder, if on the CPA there would be more variations of questions that were not addressed in the Becker homework.

I'll probably try to focus more on the multiple choice questions and spend less time on the textbook/lectures but I was wondering how is everyone else doing it?

Also, good luck to everyone that are taking it soon!

@NYC – thank you, and no need to check (I'm sure you have more important things to do tomorrow!). My confusion was that I forgot the general fund is always a major fund even if it doesn't meet the %s.

@amordiva, not sure if you're really serious about earplugs, but if so: https://www.surefire.com/tactical-equipment/hearing-protection.html

I bought the EP9s for $12.95 and they have changed my life, LOL. I even wear them on flights now and they are GREAT. Check out the sizes and other options to see what the best fit would be. My apartment, even on the 40th floor, is crazy loud (Doppler effect at it's finest… ) so keeping the balcony door open in the summer was not a possibility until I got these. They don't block everything (really I don't think any will) but they are the best I've found.

Just took FAR today and I have a feeling I'm gonna be back here. What is everyone here using to study? I've taken FAR three times and I don't know if it's me or Becker at this point. Still hoping for a pass but those SIMS killed me today.
