@NYCaccountant – my mood is PANIC! Every day I spend MANY HOURS on FAR and I feel less and less confident…

YOU, however, have such a great grasp on all of this. I do understand “depressed” — been there myself! — but this seems like a breeze for you. I envy your sold hold on the topics of FAR!

@ DJN you are not the only one. I'm going through the test bank from Wiley and find myself consistently second guessing myself. I take sets of 30 3-4 times day and then go over old material for 3 hours a night. I have not gotten less than a 90 on Wiley in a very long time, but I still feel uncomfortable. Is that normal? Almost as if I'm guessing. IDK this is probably one of the more stressful situations.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

@NYCaccountant – The only thing I would mention is with the high scores on the Wiley questions, be careful you don't do them so many times that you “learn the questions/answers” and aren't really thinking them through. E.g., when I did audit, I “knew” the answer to every question on sight, but I realized it was because I had done them over and over again and not becuase I was working through them each time. For BEC and REG I purposefully didn't let myself do the questions until I knew the answers in that way because I wanted to really know how to think them through.

As for feeling comfortable, the only exam I had any level of comfort going into/coming out of was BEC. AUD was my first one, so I had no idea what to think, and REG totally blindsided me, but BEC I knew I was sold on. So this lack of comfort is a totally normal feeling!

@Dante – I just used Becker. I had also gotten the Wiley physical book (this was before I got the electronic text bank) but I barely cracked the book open because the paper format was so annying to me. There were some concepts that I had to think through (in my own terms — not using mneomics) a couple of times, but Becker was all I had at that point.

I do have to confess after getting that AUD score I allowed myself to ease off a little for BEC and REG becuase I don't work for one of the Big 4 (or any accounting firm, for that matter) and I was like, OK Dee, you can relax a little and ratchet down the score a bit.

Thanks…kind of wish I had gone with Becker but it was a bit expensive for me. CPA excel is what I'm using and I found it a bit too basic and not detailed enough at all. I have to supplement a lot with it.

I am really struggling with consolidations and acquisitions and intercompany transactions. I did not learn about these things in undergrad so I feel like I am starting from scratch. Anyone have suggestions/tips on how to tackle these topics?

    BEC - PASS
    FAR - PASS
    Audit - PASS
    REG - PASS
