So I take FAR in 40 days and I am not quite halfway thru my study…..please tell me that it can still be done and if so how should I study to ensure a hopefully passing grade.

I appreciate any insight or guidance.

Cpa4Me07, In my opinion, you have plenty of time! Now, I don't know your study habits or the amount of time you are spending daily on material, but I gave myself all of June to study for FAR and will be taking it here in two days. Granted, I'm putting in some 10-12 hour days. It certainly isn't fun, but it sure is worth it!

Just pace yourself and have a plan in place. Be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to review because there is a chance you'll forget certain things along the way like me. For me, drilling MCQ has been the winning ticket thus FAR <– get it?

    AUD: 5/27 82!
    FAR: 7/3 80!
    REG: 7/21 76!
    BEC: 8/8 78!

@Bigbob — CPAExcel does this. A question will be asked that they haven't “provided” you the information with yet until later. Usually it's the immediate subsequent lesson or I've noticed on a few it's far down the line.

@CPA4me — I'd push back your test if you can. You're going to need plenty of time for a thorough review due to the insane amount of information for FAR.

    Alright everyone,

so this weekend i pretty much finished becker review (besides the gasp vs firs section and the financial instruments section). I did all the lectures and have a few sims and mcq to go to before i have the 90% required for the becker promise.

Just wondering, i'm not taking the exam till at least mid august or if not end of august depending on my confidence.

So my main question is, what do i do now? should i just be doing mcq or making notes, etc.. any advice is greatly appereciated

Hope everyone is doing well with study…..I am behind. My husbands birthday was yesterday. We went to church and had a really big surprise for him. Yes, it took all day. absolutely no study..Getting remotivated. I still have a few point that I need to tighten up. considering pushing it back from 7/7 to 7/21 so I can have enough time to tighten up on mcq's……..open for suggestions.

Cpa4Me07 im in the same boat! Exam is scheduled for 8/30 and only on F2…yikes! Really need to focus! I thought that since this is my last exam I would be extremely motivated to get this one done but it's not happening. If anything, i'm the least motivated I've been! Maybe it's the weather. Regardless, hitting the studies hard starting tonight after work! Good luck to you in finishing =)

Well I have a little over 2 days to finish my preparation. This weekend was as successful as planned. We ended up putting an offer in on a house and so that took so unexpected time. I plan to go ahead and take because at this point it is 90 to reschedule so not that much more to go ahead and try. Plus I want to make sure I have ample time to take the other 3 exams. I really feel like I will be able to study more efficiently for the next one from the mistakes I learned this time.

Trying to get a final plan. Should I keep working progress test. I have been working in Ninja MCQ Adaptive Learning but I feel like I am getting a lot of repeat questions that I answer right. I want to make sure I use the next 2 days to the best of my ability because my boss said I could take the next 2 days off.

    Do you have any suggestions?

If you have wiley test bank or another way to do questions I think that would be good. You also said something that I didn't consider was the price to change. I didn't know it is 90 to reschedule. I plan to push mine back two weeks from 7/7 to 7/21 if I can. I am regrouping from yesterday, but I just feel I can give the review another two weeks. So I am going with the notes section by section again with the mcq's and making sure one more time.

If you schedule tonight it may only be 35. I think it is 6 days out. I am going through Becker Chapter by chapter to see what I really need to review on. Intercompany transactions and acquisitions are kicking my behind. I am starting to freak out that I am just not prepared well enough.

I checked and it's 35.00. Though I did not want to pay it, because I should have been prepared, but life is what it is so the next date is 7/29. I almost feel like that;s too much time, but I can better my chances of passing. And that's what is important. I don't want to spend on Far anymore. I went on and scheduled my reg too since my nts will expire on 8/15. I am going to go for both. And I have a good game plan to use to make sure I am ready and if not I'll eat reg. but either way I am going to do my best.

My exam is tomorrow morning and I have worked on SIMS all day. The last few hours I have done little 20 MCQ comprehensive exams (I use Becker) and have been scoring high 70's low 80's. My mistakes are usually stupid, sometimes one or two question I really just didn't know. At this point, 12 hours away from the exam I am simply going to try my best. My exam is at 12:30. Any suggestions for tomorrow morning? Should I do more problems in the morning or just review my notes?

    FAR: 80

@steph – I would probably just review notes. You don't want to get burnt out doing mcq and get yourself nervous before the exam. Make sure to eat a good breakfast and Good luck!!!

    FAR - 46, 79 (7/8/14)
    AUD - 56, 59, 2/23/15 3rd times a charm!
    BEC - 69, 74 Really??
REG - April, I hope. Fingers crossed!

Can someone explain a fool proof way to calculate weighted number of shares for the denominator in EPS? It seems that every time I follow one method, another is used. I used this video as a guide but still getting some Becker ones wrong with that – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DZjFRvSPm0

    @Esther..

With the Weighted Average always use your fingers to determine how many months and divide by 12.

Eg. if the shares were issued on 6/12, your weighted average will be 6/12 x shares issued.

    REG -63│ 84!!
    BEC- 59│70│ 71 │78!
    AUD- 75!
    FAR- 87!
