Yeah, it's like a stock split. I don't know what is done exactly, there must be some sort of supporting paperwork, but no journal entry

@gain. Stock splits and stock dividends do not increase investment share rather they decrease, current cost basis because it's spread out over the additional shares.

    Hey all,

New to the site and just starting my FAR journey. I just recently took AUD and feel good about it but because it was my first test, I'm not totally certain that I passed it. I am going to continue to study for FAR until I get my results to AUD and if I don't pass AUD, I'm going to go back and knock that out before I take FAR.

    Is that a good strategy?

I have a question on how to study for FAR.. I have Becker and feel like it's a whole new material than what I remember from school!! (Even though it hasn't been too long since I graduated, I feel like I don't really remember FAR..) I've been trying MCQs and haven't gotten too far.. I was going to take the exam at the end of this month because my NTS expires in mid October. I know I probably should wait until october to take the exam, but I have a month of free time and wanted to squeeze in FAR before starting my job starts in early September. What are your studying methods? How are you preparing for the exam??

@bobcat, yes, pleas share your experience here or in the exam experience thread.

@jess3… in my opinion even with the entire month off i would not recommend taking it at the end of this month. You maybe able to cover a good amount of the chapters but you need a fair amount of time (approx. 2 weeks) of solid final review time. This is when all the pieces start coming together (hopefully) and you gain more confidence and increase your comfort with the material. I have been at it for a while and never feel fully prepared but each person has their own way of learning and you have to do what works best for you.

I would recommend waiting till october, study your butt off and take advantage of the time before as its a rare opportunity and continue to study after work till your ready…

    just my opinion…

Jess3, I agree with DC, wait until the October testing window and get as much study time in as possible. As you will notice in many of the signatures here, the FAR test is a beast and any extra study will only benefit you at the testing center.
