@NYCaccountant BEC will be a breeze for you…you seem to write just fine… cost accounting and IT shouldn't stump you either and they are the most difficult sections of the exam 🙂 the only thing is memorizing 63 or so formulas frontwards and backwards to make sure you can answer them in any of the possible ways

    Florida:
AUD: 73, 81! Thank you Lord!
BEC: 73, 77! Thank you Lord! and WTB
REG: 71, 82! Thank you Lord! and A71
FAR: 72, 78! Thank you God and my Mommy in Heaven!

Nyc using becker? Lectures in bec seem so long. Didnt see much math when skimming b1 will prob do it on friday. A lot of hw questions. Whats the best way to study stuff? After becker lectures is it good to read the section/chapter before going to hw ques? I wanna try my best options. Also whats a good way to incorporate ninja stuff. I found out about another71 and ninja abiut 3 weeks before far exam and had already finished going thru all 10 chapters of far in becker before starting ninja. Should I do becker and ninja together or do all of bec becker then use ninja to review?

ps I think an app shluld exist for another71 using it in browser is a bit annoying lol

@TEETEE Stated rate is the rate on the bond, so I sell you a bond for $500,000 at 8% interest for 5 years. All of this information is written on the face of the bond. The effective rate is the rate I am going to discount the bond at. The effective rate is usually the market rate. So when the Stated rate is higher than the effective rate, the bond is more valuable because it would pay more interest than other bonds on the market. So I can sell this for a premium. When the effective (Market rate) rate is higher than the stated rate, the bond is less valuable because I can go buy another bond in the market and get more interest. So the only way I can make you want my bond is if I sell if at a discount.

Bond premium works itself back down to face value of bond, so a bond sold at a premium for $505,000, will be worked down to $500,000 at maturation. The interest will inevitable higher than if this was a discounted bond.

Bond Discount works itself up to face value of bond, so a bond sold at a discount for 495,000, will be worked up to $500,000 at maturation. The interest will be lower than if this was sold at a premium.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

@Zackrampage I used Wiley, I cannot afford Becker. I just read each chapter, wrote notes and did the multiple choice. No lectures, or anything. I had ninja notes, which I wrote over and I studied governmental chapters HARD! lol

For far inrewrote all notes. I liked nfp and gov they were easy for me. I think ill start listening to bec ninja audio on my commute tom. Might gimme a head start for when I watch becker lectures and do hw. Big problem is im starting busy season tomorrow and have to work 55 hrs including sundays leave wayy less time than I had for far before starting working 🙁 look like bec may be slightly less than far though.

Ok, @NYCaccountant, I rewrote your notes and I think I see where I was mixing up the concepts…basically I was relating the “premium” and “discount” to the issuer instead of seeing it in the bondholder's point of view (I think anyway, lol), thanks so much! you earned another wing 🙂

@NYC and Zackrampage, should we just concentrate on MCQs to help with SIMs similar to REG, or does practicing SIM questions really help with FAR?
