Is it ok to start a FAR Study Group? I retook Audit yesterday and although I don’t have a gut feeling either way if I passed or not, I am going to start on FAR. I am using Becker self-study and purchased the Ninja Notes for FAR.

I am looking forward to reading a/b everyone’s progression. Good Luck!

@gchantur I studied off and on from September through mid-January, but with the holidays and all, I don't think I was really paying attention half the time I was studying. I KNOW I didn't do enough MCQs and SIMS, and I still got a 69, so I was surprised. I didn't think the actual exam was even as hard as the practice MCQs. I completed the entire exam down to the last few minutes. SIMS weren't that hard if you know the material…and you do really have to know ALL the material, which stinks. I've been at it again just plowing through as many MCQs and SIMS as I can stand, which still isn't enough I don't think. But I had that same feeling the last time I took BEC, and I passed, so we'll see.

    Good luck to you!

    BEC - 69, 66, 78 (exp), 82
    FAR - 69, 72, 66, 76
    REG - 64, 66, 72, 80
    AUD - 77
    Ethics - 95

Oh, and I used Yaeger and NINJA 10-point combo to study. I also supplement with CPAReviewforFree just for additional MCQs.

@Stay_Positive Thank you so much for such an answer! I dont know, honestly, I put in so much time already, I've been drilling on MCQs well over 2000. I feel like if I don't pass it I must be a failure but one thing is that I have not taken any exams yet, and it kind of gives me additional anxiety. Also, I'm starting to Work at one of the Big 4 firms and I feel like everyone there or at least 70% have already completed their CPAs so kind of lots of pressure. I wissh you all the best of luck FAR fam. Currenty I am going over chapter 3, I started with Governmental so I have chapters 4,5,6,7 left which I plan to complete until 20 of April and then over two weeks for all the MCQs and Sims.

    FAR - May 16th --- 83
    AUD - August 2nd --- 81
    BEC - December 2d --- 76
    REG - February 10th---77
    Ethics - February 23rd - 98

Ending inventory is deflated to base year cost by dividing ending inventory by the current year's conversion price index and comparing the resulting amount with the beginning inventory which is also changed to base year dollars. the difference represents the layer which, after conversion must be added or subtracted to arrive at the appropriate value if ending inventory. (wiley 2013, pg 199)

    It begins with a 75

AnasAG-best way to understand dollar value LIFO is to do MCQWiley has a bunch as does CPAreviewforfree. It will start to click after a while. Make sure you are reading the explanations for each MCQ. Good luck!

@Anasag, some companies use DVLIFO bcoz they have more than 1 products and unit price calculation is very time consuming for each product separately every month, so they just separate the amount that increased this year…call it a layer… deflate it and inflate it at the rate of the base index price.(to get a uniform result)

Becker or others r trying to put everything in 1 chapter that we studied in one whole semester…think it as a refresher course , not full fledged studies and u will feel positive and encouraged to understand what short material has to say…use google and youtube and go back to Becker again…don't let the negativity capture you.

hope the explanation of DVLIFO was of some help.

    FAR 72,71,81 🙂
    AUD 64,71, 72, 75 🙂 I'm done !!!
    REG 73, 74, 74, 84 🙂
    BEC 76 🙂
