Is it ok to start a FAR Study Group? I retook Audit yesterday and although I don’t have a gut feeling either way if I passed or not, I am going to start on FAR. I am using Becker self-study and purchased the Ninja Notes for FAR.

I am looking forward to reading a/b everyone’s progression. Good Luck!

@MrsBing, I think doing MCQ will benefit u most if u have less time..watching lecture/ reading points that u r weak at will be a time saver

    FAR 72,71,81 🙂
    AUD 64,71, 72, 75 🙂 I'm done !!!
    REG 73, 74, 74, 84 🙂

MrsBing, I'm taking the exam on Friday. I think I wasted a lot of time going back over lectures. I'd stick with MCQ's. When you miss one, go back to the material and find out why.

So my test is this Sunday and I'm pretty certain I will not pass it. I don't feel prepared. I don't think I have spent enough time on MCQ's and notes. I feel like I almost rushed through a lot of the material. I have been studying for this since February with lots of work and family events coming along the way.

What would you do? Extend it or take it?

I would take a practice test or two (depending on how much time you have to review), then I would work through a few more mcq's. If you still don't feel prepared then reschedule. But I don't think any of us felt prepared before a test. To ease those thoughts for me I make sure that I set my study schedule and stick with it, I have a tendency to get side tracked…..but if you feel like you should reschedule then reschedule then study like crazy the areas you want to nail down.

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass

You dont always feel 100% prepared, but if you feel you could use some time to do some more MCQs, and it wont interfere with your schedule for your next exam, I think you should reschedule it

But only take like 1-2 weeks more and keep your studies up as hard as you are doing now… I remember i rescheduled REG and got 10 more days… It makes a huge difference knowing you did all you could and not going to the exam thinking you can had done more

@tina – I think you have plenty of time. I am also a big proponent of not leaving too much review time (although as I JUST finished getting through the material and my test is on Saturday – I would appreciate a little more time). But I'm not moving it back…about to start copying the NINJA notes and working non-stop MCQ's. I also work full time so at the moment, my work is being put off and I'm going to be slammed with 1st Qtr financials next week. Hopefully it will ALL be worth it as this is my last exam….

Thanks CrockPot, I now I have some weak areas (for ex I absolutely despise Ch.2 in Becker) so it will take me longer to review those chapters. I think for the other exams, if I remember correctly, I spend about a week to week and a half on review. But for FAR, one I've been stretching it for a while, had to take a break from studying due to work, etc. so it's not the same as the other exams.

Anyhow, best of luck to you on the 6th! Looking forward to hearing how it went 🙂

    R - 74;88
    A - 84
    B - 74;89
    F - no study = 67; May 15 = 87 & done

I'm really having trouble with governmental accounting. Does the special revenue fund account for revenues and expenditures that are legally restricted other than debt service or capital projects? Or does it not handle permanent funds and capital projects?
